Fun light and color kit for kids to explore science concepts!
I ordered this kit for my 10-year-old son to use at home as an exploration in light and color. I was expecting to use it before bedtime as a way to transition away from screen time. What I didn't expect was that we can use it in our living room with all the windows open in the middle of the afternoon! It was surprising how relatively bright these lights were given that they are LEDs. I got to play with the kit during the afternoon it arrived, and my son has been using it at night. His only complaint is that the red light doesn't shine as brightly onto the wall from where the coffee table is located - a very minor inconvenience! I wanted something for him that was not a laser but could still be paired with mirrors or lenses for light explorations as he gets older. The kit came with a link to some lessons, but we've been having fun coming up with our own ideas that we haven't checked the lessons out yet. I think this is a great kit and worth the price!

Great Safe Classroom Fun
Love these in my elementary/middle school science classroom. Students love using them. I love how safe they are and not actual lasers. Great ideas on their website for using in the classroom. My students like using them in a dark classroom to try to identify m&m colors. I needed another set due to my larger class size. Great improvements.

One part among many needed.
I got the impression from the product information page that one could do multiple experiments with this item. Well you can, kind of -- but not with this item alone. You need all kinds of add-on accessories. All you get here is three different colored LED flashlights. Overall, a deceptive product presentation.

A very useful laser kit for youth
Very nice kit. My second kit! Resources are available @ "laserclassroom.com". I also have another kit from the website. The purpose of the kit is to teach about color mixing and properties of thr color lasers for other experiments. I recommend this kit for youth of any age.

Extremely cheep and poor quality
Extremely poor quality. Does not function well. Cost is inexcusable for what it actually is.

Very practical and efficient
I have purchased these years ago, and I used them in Physics class when I teach Color Theory. I travel with them to conferences and use them for hands on activities. The colors are the perfect Red Green Blue needed to produce white when combined. I will keep buying them.

Good, eye-safe lights for optics demonstrations that do not require a laser.
I have used Light Blox for many years, and I like them. These are not lasers, and THAT IS A GOOD THING. These are completely eye safe for kids (and adults) to use. You will want to use these in a dark or dim room, as is the case with most optics demonstrations and experiments. THAT IS A GOOD THING. I have a Ph.D. in optics and spent most of graduate school in a dark room. If you really do need lasers, then Laser Classroom also sells them, and those are certified eye safe. BE VERY WARY OF CHEAP LASERS! They are frequently much higher power than advertised. I bought some lasers that were ostensibly 3 mW and instead they were all over 75 mW, which is extremely dangerous. All of those postives aside, I must agree that Light Blox are not especially rugged. I ship mine around the country a few times a year, and some have stopped working, probably from broken solder connections.
