I own two of these
Iโm an avid knife collector with around 100 knives in regular rotation. I own two versions of this modelโthe Damascus and the standardโand it stands out from any knife I own in several key ways. First, itโs incredibly lightweight without sacrificing strength, comparable to the Praxis in durability. The opening and closing mechanism is impressively quiet, and the button lock is exceptional. It allows the blade to fully close at almost any angle with a simple push of the button, avoiding the bounce-back issue common with many knives when closing too quickly at steep angles. The deep-carry pocket clip is another highlightโit keeps the knife completely concealed when clipped. The grip is solid, though the lightening holes reduce overall comfort slightly, making it about a 7 out of 10 in terms of grip feel. When it comes to key features like quiet operation, strength, size, lightweight design, and seamless opening and closing, this knife earns a perfect 10 in my book. When it comes to the Damascus version, I really appreciate the sharpness and how easy it is to sharpen. However, letโs be honestโyouโre primarily buying it for its visual appeal. Unfortunately, the durability of the Damascus finish on many of these knives leaves something to be desired. It scratches far too easily, sometimes with the slightest touch. I also own an Elementum and an Elementum 2, and their Damascus blades are entirely different. The finish is darker, more intricate, and resembles a pattern of snakes, with a slightly raised texture. That particular type of Damascus is not only visually stunning but also much more scratch-resistantโitโs the only one I own that still looks great over time. So, be aware that with about 90% of Damascus finishes with them, scratching can be a major issue. I really wish they would use the more durable and attractive style more often.

Amazing knife, crazy fit and finish
This knife has an amazing design and incredible fit and finish. It's in ultra light category but still packs a large usable blade. Lighter than the mini sheepdog micarta and only slightly heavier than the Benchmade Pardue. Fit and finish of this knife and Civivis in general are crazy. I've had Benchmades, ZTs, Spydercos, Emersons, etc over the years. This is better hands down. No cheap nylon washers and scales like the Emersons, rough edges of some ZTs, etc. Design is perfection. Button lock with flipper is like Benchmade but easier to open. Flipper tab is small and unobtrusive when open. Even the skeletonization on the blade are recessed and chamfered. This might not seem like much, but it's huge if you actually use the knife. Food won't get trapped in the holes like the unchamfered Spyderco holes. This is all without even considering the incredible price. Value is unbeatable vs the crazy prices Benchmade and others are charging these days. If you're a non knife person, get this instead of others like Gerber or Kershaw. Those are a joke vs Civivi. I grabbed some knives I had onhand for a size comparison. Weight is 2.62oz (74.26g). Tip to pivot center is 100mm.

Super lightweight. Easy to flip open and close with one hand
CIVIVI makes very high quality knives at very good prices. I have several different styles. The blade is sharp, the opening of the blade is smooth and consistent.

My new favorite EDC
Very lightweight, but still sturdy and comfortable in your hand. Well balanced and easy to handle. The locking mechanism is the icing on the cake for ease of use. Aside from the great functionality, the carbon fiber design makes it a really attractive EDC. I have a lot of CIVIVI knives and this is by far my favorite of the collection.

Excellent knife, too light for me
I purchased the Biophase as a replacement for the EDC I've been carrying for a year and a half. A full size Praxis with Ultem handle and dull black finish. The Biophase is an excellent knife, I spent many hours making the decision to change. Under a hundred bucks, i think its the best EDC you can buy is CIvivi. I just had to decide what model. I watched the videos, reviews of dozens of knives. I went with the Biophase, primarily because it's light. Undet 3 Oz. The weight doesn't compromise the design or quality. It does have a hint of Gas Station when you first see it, not after you've held it. The skeleton blade, frame, and handle reduce the weight, not the integrity of the knife. I like the weight and feel of the Praxis better than the Biophase. I open, close and used that knife with one hand like an extension of my hand. Took me 1 or 2 days to get used to it, I've never sharpened it, won't slice paper, but it's far from dull. My previous knife is an outstandingly well designed and manufactured product. Nothing I've bought in the price range is built as well. SOLID, FLAWLESS, PRECISE, SMOOTH, BALANCED. I paid $350 for a similar Benchmade, It's not worth 4 times the price, the Civivi after 18 months has some wear, tiny nicks. The knife operates perfect. Bearings, lock, blade tightness, no blade wobble. I've pried, thrown it into a target a couple dozen times, stripped wires, I used this knife a dozen times a day, I'd miss it more than my cell phone if I left it ar home. Sticking with Civivi for my EDC. All that being said, I'd choose the Praxis over the Biophase. The blade weight is too light. It's balanced well for the weight, but it doesn't have enough weight to open the knife reliably at the speed I'm used to even though the action itself Is looser than the Praxis. I have medium size hands and the knife size is perfect for me, but I'm missing the feel of the blade weight, it will not open as fast and as solid and the Praxis. I also thought I had to have button lock this time around, I never minded the frame lock, I'm a left and can close it one handed without giving it any thought. In short, I'm keeping the Biophase, but I'm going buy a different Civivi for my EDC, something with a little more weight. I added a video and the Biophase doesn't have the "SNAP" the Praxis does. You cant see it, but you hear it, and definitely feel it. I used the Praxis a dozen times a day since I got it from Amazon, I rarely will review a product this well, it's really that good.

Lightweight-Well Constructed-Attractive Design
I rarely routinely carried a pocket knife until I received this. It is so easy to open but isn't spring-loaded which I like. Because of its light weight and integrated pocket clip, I now almost always have it one me and that has already mattered on a couple of occasions. I cannot speak to it's longevity as I have only had it for a couple of months, but it appears to be very well-built and despite it's size, it has a sturdy feel in the hand when being used. I really like this knife.

New Favorite knife!
One of the best knives I have ever owned. Very light, and very sharp. Flips open easy, and the button close means I only need one hand to use it. Everyone thinks it looks cool. Like a Klingon knife, or something.

Really happy with it!
Super light, snappy deployment. Despite the light weight it's solid, no side to side play in it. I have seen some reviews that said the button lock was hard to press, but the one I got doesn't have this issue. It passed the arm hair shaving test for me right out of the box.
