Good to have for high anxiety, ADHD
Great product. Very well made. Does lower your heart rate, and get your mind at ease pretty quickly. I bring them on all my trips too.

I intended to return this product when it didn't live up to what people said
It's 160 bucks for 2 little speakers that claims from some its reviews that you achieve 20 minutes worth of meditation in 3 minutes. I would say you get 10 minutes worth of GOOD meditation from 3 minutes, 20 minutes worth of so-so meditation in 3 minutes. Absolutely buy this. Read on for my story. 3 years ago I started having very bad sleep due to stressors in my life. I would sleep and it would feel like I thought all night. It was as if I didn't sleep. I never felt rested and my mind and body would be weak as a result. I was in a constant state of tiredness and it would reset every night when my sleep quality was terrible. I tried OTC sleep meds, I tried not using them, I tried CBD, alcohol just to knock me out and the quality was terrible. Finally I discovered Sam Harris and his praise of meditation and bought his app for a year. The first time I meditated for 10 minutes (which was at bedtime), right before the 10 minute mark I felt this incredible urge to sleep and slept like a baby for the first time in a very long time. I knew my problems then stemmed from an unclean room (my mind). I likened my mind to an unclean room and every now and then I felt the need to clean it up through meditation. For the next 3 subsequent years I'd meditate on and off. It was difficult to get to a meditative state in the original 10 minutes, and I would require 20+ minutes of meditation for a result I wanted, and even that wasn't guaranteed because of my stubbornness to dedicate enough time to meditation. In that regard, if you allocate enough time and get what you need out of meditation, you don't necessarily need this product. I then searched on amazon for this device that vibrates and it's a bracelet/anklet and it helped bring you into the moment, but it wasn't sold on amazon, however this turned up. I had some amazon gift card credit and figured I could return this when it absolutely didn't work and I'd move on and try other things. The problem was that it did work. VERY well. The vibration, the sounds with no pattern, the quality of the speakers, it drives the tones into your head and you immediately get transported to a blank, mindful head-space. Suddenly you hear the sounds in the room, you notice the objects in the room you didn't before, you notice the sunlight hitting everything. It works, and it's 3 minutes. I often run it back to back, up to 3 times, if I want to guarantee a good meditation session, but since buying this and using it before bed, I have slept consistently amazingly. I wish it wasn't 160 buck but I am absolutely not returning it. Although I wish I wanted to.

Well made, very relaxing - Update after using 1.5 years
This showed up on my Amazon home page. It looked super expensive (overpriced) but I was curious and clicked anyway. After reading the reviews, I tried it out - I’d been searching for something a little indulgent to reward my self for accomplishing a difficult task the prior week. These are soooooo lovely. The simplicity is elegant. Three minutes is perfect (no excuses). The sound and gentle vibrations are enchanting. Contrary to what you may think, you CANNOT get the same effect with a recording or an app. I’ve had for a week and use several times per day. The sound is gentle / innocuous enough that it doesn’t bother my spouse if he’s working or if I’m out on the balcony. I’ll even use these if I have just a few minutes before logging into a meeting - it’s amazing what those few minutes of centering can do. Can you meditate without these? Of course (and I do). These are also many lovely apps. But if you want something tangible and elegant, a physical “thing” to remind you, a meditation”assistant” that doesn’t involve your phone or any needless technology, or have trouble focusing / returning your mind to the practice every time it inevitably wanders, these are absolutely lovely and very helpful. UPDATE - Been using these 1.5 years. After six months of using them I fell and broke a bone. It was of course very painful but the practice of meditation I developed using these chimes allowed me to cultivate that same feeling and be “okay” through the pain waiting for hours in the ER (whenever I had to do something or talk to someone it was so bad I blacked out). The chimes aren’t magic but make it so much easier to have a point of focus to return to when you mind wanders, and cultivating the tiny three minute practice has helped to train my brain such that I’m now able to bring myself into that meditation space even without the chimes. As I write this I’m traveling for work and note that I still bring the chimes with me in my suitcase! These are expensive but worth every penny. Not sure why but they work infinitely better than the various apps on my phone. They’re pretty and feel nice to hold as well. Can’t say enough.

Ingenious mindfulness product that actually works
The ingenious mindfulness product that actually works. Buy them. Just do it. Thank me later. Note: this is a very detailed review. The short version? It’s amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever felt moved by sound, and would like something to help them feel more calm and relaxed/less anxious. The details: The genius is three-fold: - The concept: simply perfect. - The audio tone recordings: the exceptionally well executed and finely created and crafted, relaxing, and soothing high-fidelity audio tones are perfect. You can tell they were truly created by a seasoned mindfulness practitioner and audio professional, and it shows. Not only do they sound incredible, the sounds are specifically tuned to certain frequencies (Hz) that are scientifically known to be calming to our bodies and nervous systems. This is next-level, and is likely a good portion of why this system is so effective. This isn’t marketing hype, it’s science, effectively applied. - The the tone therapy speakers themselves: they are weighty, beautiful, simple, hi-fidelity audio speakers that perform exactly as stated. The sound resonance created between them is nothing short of astounding, and most importantly, calming and soothing. Each time my mind is about to start wandering and thinking it knows the pattern and when the next tone is going to happen and what it will likely sound like, it is surprised back into presence and stillness, bringing it back into the present moment. Pros/Likes: + IT WORKS + High Quality + Weight/Substance/Tactical feel + Easy + Dedicated to just tone therapy, and not a Bluetooth receiver for your phone/music/etc..While most would consider this a big con, especially since it would be technically feesible to change/impliment this, I believe it was a conscious choice by the designer/developer and a good one at that. Here’s why: Our minds associate/group things together, which is why most of the best sleep hygene experts all say to use your bedroom for only two things: sleep, and sex. If you set up your home office in your bedroom, your brain will not feel as relaxed in your bedroom as it would if you had your home office in the guest bedroom, the dining room, or the kitchen. The same goes for a device meant for calm and peacefulness. If it were to be used to play your party/dance music, when you go to use it to relax, your brain might say, ‘Oh, it’s time to party/dance!’ and get you revved up, rather than winding down. + 3 year warranty on the battery is excellent (however see battery/cons below). + Customer service has been excellent so far. Quick, friendly, and very helpful. Cons/Don’t Like (all/most are very minor nitpicks): - Blue LED power indicator light that is on the entire time during the session. If you are aware of how unhealthy blue light is before bed (or within 1.5 hours of bed time), then you, like me, probably try to avoid all non-warm toned light sources in the evening, and I want to use these right before going to bed, so I need to put black tape over them. - No ability to increase time of session beyond 3 min. In all fairness, 3 min does feel longer than 3 minutes, maybe closer to 5, which is nice, but it would also be nice to not have to turn the units on again for an extended/additional session. - Volume: Low, but not low enough. Though there are 3 settings, the lowest isn’t low enough for someone like me who wants to do a session right before bed but doesn’t want to wake up anyone else who might be sleeping near by/the next room over, the neighbor downstairs or upstaris for those of us who live in buildings with poor sound insulation. I do understand that the resonance/harmony/sound affect of the two different speakers tones combining in mid-air might be reduced at a lower volume, which is possibly why they aren’t set to go lower, but I’d rather that than having to forgo a session before bed altogether, which is currently the case for me. - Volume: High not high enough. The highest volume setting is plenty loud for an individual in a room by themselves, but if you wanted to put them farther apart in a larger group setting and turn up the sound a bit more, you can’t go higher then the 3rd setting, which is a bummer. - Makes a slight audible click/pop upon auto power off at the end of each session. When you’re in a really relaxed and peaceful state, it would be nice if there was no sound at all when the unit powers off. Yes, this is nitpicky, but for the price and intended experience, it would be nice. - Battery: though it has an excellent 3-year warranty on the battery, I asked customer service if the battery can be replaced once it dies/no longer holds a charge (as all rechargeable batteries inevitably do), and I asked if not, are the units able to be powered via the USB cables, which would be a great workaround if the batteries can’t be replaced. Unfortunately, they said the batteries are not replaceable (this a big deal to me, and would have been a dealbreaker if it was not for the 3 year warranty), and also that they cannot be simply powered via the USB cables (only charged). So basically, once the batteries eventually die in 3.1-4 or 5 years from now, they’ll be pretty paperweights and you’ll need to buy a new set. This is really unfortunate and not cool at all in my opinion. This creates unnecessary waste in the world and forces you to re-buy something you already purchased. This almost prevented me from purchasing them, but after asking about the powering via USB once the batteries die, the response was “No, but that’s a great idea!” So that encouraged me to believe they’re working on future improvements, and this (hopefully along with eventual replaceable batteries) may be in future versions. - Buttons on the bottom: It’s a pain to have to pick the units up, turn them upside down, press the power button, turn them over, and place them back down, and the session, often times, starts before you’ve put them back down. And if you’re doing it in the dark/dimly lit room, it’s hard to know which button is which. It would be much more convenient and practical to have the buttons located on the back, so you could just reach back and press the left one for power, and the right one to adjust volume. - Start Session Delay: The 2 second start session delay time is too short to turn the units upside down, hit the power button, turn them back right side up, put them down, sit back in your seat and get comfortable. I think a 3-4 or even a 5 second delayed start would be even better. But again, if this could be in a user-customizable setting on the micro SD cards, that would be wonderful. - There’s no headphone jack. A headphone jack on each unit would be wonderful to use in environments when there are many others around you but you could really use a quick de-stress session to calm you down, on your lunch break in a crowded area/cafe, etc. However in order for this to work, you would need to bring with you two pairs of wired 3.5mm earbuds (the kind that used to come with the iPhone 6s and earlier), and you would only be using one bud from each pair, leaving the other hanging. This could be solved by a Y connector accessory that would connect one wire to each unit and provide one 3.5mm jack (or lightning, USB-C, etc.) to plug a single pair of headphones into. This would be almost ideal, because then you could have your expensive headphones and not have to have a matching pair. I contacted the company, and they did mention they are working on a separate app that will be able to do this just with your phone, which would be even better, but until then, it’s still a bummer that this isn’t doable. One might suggest a bluetooth connection would be easier/better than a plug-in option, but since each speaker unit operates indepednantly, that would be very technically difficult, since your bluetooth earbuds can only play stereo audio from a single source at a time, and you cant tell your left ear to be connected to one, and your right ear to be connected to the other. The only way Solu could accomplish this would be to have the units talking to each other, and have the bluetooth audio signal come from just one of the speakers. This may be something they are considering, but would require a significant redesign, as the current speakers are identical. To do what I just described, they’d have to change it so that one is the master with the audio files, and selects at random which sounds to play out of the right and left and then sends the audio over to the other, and also both audio chanels out through Bluetooth when that option is used. It’s definitely possible, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re considering it, but it would increase production/repair/warranty costs quite a bit to have two different units vs two identical ones, just for a small added benefit. My guess is their app will simply solve this issue and then they won’t have to deal with the cost increase or complexity of implementing those changes, and I can’t blame them for that. The more complex something is, the more likely it is to have issues and bugs and frustrated users. And since this system is designed to relieve stress and anxiety rather than increase it, I think simplicity is better most times. - Bug: Some reviewers complain that sessions aren’t always a full 3-minutes, leaving them feeling like they’re not getting their money’s worth. When I received my unites, the instructions point out that if you stop a session part way through without letting it finish, your next session will be shorter. So, this is obviously a known thing by Solu, but what doesn’t make sense to me is, why? Why wouldn’t you have it re-set itself upon power off/on? There seems no benefit to me to leave this functioning this way. Hopefully there will be a firmware update in the future? Update: After looking at the audio files contained on these units, it appears a few of the audio recordings are actually less than 3 minutes (but only by 15 seconds usually), although many more of the tracks are actually longer than 3 minutes. It’s going to be very rare that both speakers will select one of the three shorter recordings out of the forty eight total recordings, but I do think it’s strange to have a few of those short ones in there, because even if one of the speakers plays it, it means it will end sooner than the other one, and so for the last 15 seconds or so of your session, you won’t have that sound resonance between the two speakers, which is disappointing. I might delete those shorter tracks off of the MicroSD cards if this becomes an issue, or perhaps lengthen them in GarageBand or another audio editing application. - USB connection: Micro USB is very common, but it’s being replaced by the much better USB-C, which doesn’t have a side up/down and can be insterted in any direction. Unfortunately, because these use Micro USB ports, it requires the USB cable to be inserted a specific way. Not a huge deal, but would be better if they had gone with USB-C. Improvements I’d like to see/Really hope Solu will consider making: - Allow the user to manually extend the session to longer times, such as 5 min, 8 min, 10 min, 15 min. I’d be happy with just 3, 5, 8, and 10min options. No need to add more buttons, just make it a press the power button and the volume button at the same time with audio feedback to confirm the session time. - Ditch the blue light (Use yellow, orange, or red instead) - Figure out a way to get rid of the pop, or at the very least, change the auto power-off feature so it doesn’t power off immediately, but perhaps 60 seconds after the sounds stop, to give the user time to be in peace and quiet tranquility and end the session more slowly. - Add a bunch of user-customizable settings simply via a plain text file on the micro SD cards in the back of the speaker units, so that users could plug them into their computer card readers and edit/modify them to their liking. Things like: - Session length times - default session length time - Volume min, max, and middle settings (assuming the speakers are capalbe of higher volume without distortion, but they should definitely be capable of a lower setting). - Sesstion Start Delay - Auto power off time - Fix bug that causes an interrupted session via user manually powering off speakers to make next session shorter than a full session. No reason to have this that I can see. Suggestion: - Buy this. You won’t regret it. After only a few uses, I immedately decided to purchase a set for my sibling’s family of active little kids that could benefit, and one for my parents, and one for a close friend who struggles with anxiety and panic attacks and sleeping. - Get the case. It is equally high quality and very convenient (although it doesn’t stor the charging cables, which is fine with me, as I have yet to need to charge them, but just remember to charge them before going somewhere, or just have a charging cable on-hand). Other things of note: - The volume seems to re-set itself to the default setting each time it powers off/on, which hasn’t been a problem as sometimes I turn up the volume during the day if I’m in a noisier environment, and then when I use it again in the evening in a quieter environment it won’t be surprisingly loud. This has worked so far for me, but I can see some being annoyed if they prefer the medium or louder volume, and have to set it each time, rather than it remembering your last used setting. (The default is the lowest of the 3 settings, which isn’t low, but very pleasant and perfect for most quiet settings). - They charge with two separate micro USB cables (included) that you’ll need to plug into either a computer or some extra USB phone chargers you have laying around, or USB wall outlets if you have them. I’m personally fine with them not coming with wall plug/chargers because we all have too many of those as is, and this device does not need to be charged very often. It might be a different story if it required daily charging (looking at you, Apple Watch..Grr..). Another review I read complained about them not offering wireless charging. This was clearly made by a techie who likes to own the latest and the greatest. Wireless charging is slowly becoming more the norm, but it has yet to be fully adopted by the masses (do both of your parents and your siblings and friends all have it? No? Then most people probably don’t) so this would be added cost of production for probably only 15%-25% of its users actually using it. Wasteful. This might be a nice to have, and perhaps Solu will consider it for future models, and they probably should since things are moving in that direction, but they might think about selling it as an upgraded option at first, to gauge interest. I would say this should be implemented sooner if they needed to be recharged daily, but since one charge will last for 50+ sessions, I think plugging them in once in a while is just fine for now. - Don’t start the two at the exact same moment/simultaneously. When starting a session, when I first started using them I was trying to start them at the exact same time, but After some experimentation, I actually recommend pressing the power button for one, and then the other, with a slight gap in time between the two. This may be a personal preference thing, but I find that doing this seems to more often create a more pleasant experience with the timing of the tones. Even though the different tone recordings have many varying patterns and time between tones over the course of the sessions, most of them start out with a tone within 2 seconds of start time, and I’ve found it to be more pleasing if they are staggered rather than simultaneously sounding off. Doing this likely doesn’t affect more than the beginning of a session, but it’s nice to have a nice start. I will try to update this with future thoughts as I use them more. I hope this helps!

Delightful sound experience!
I thoroughly enjoy these mini magical music pucks! The sound quality is absolutely fantastic and I love the calming Tibetan bowl tones that gently wash over me. The way the sound resonates between my ears and through my brain is eargasmic! Think ASMR meets meditation. It's almost like I become one with the tones and vibrations. Why did I buy these little speakers? I didn't NEED them. Oh, yeah...it's because I have so much tension, stress and anxiety I thought that I might enjoy a little daily relaxation break! Yes, they were pricey. Will I send them back because I feel guilty for spending so much on a luxury item? Nope. I have had them for nearly a week and I've fallen in love with these puppies! I would be sad if I sent them back. Honestly, I don't know of any other item that would compare to this experience - headphones are not the same nor is just listening to singing bowls on a regular speaker. The closest comparison is watching Tibetan singing bowls on YouTube on my Oculus. Even that does not provide the same experience. I knew when I bought the n.o.w. system that they only played for 3 minutes at a time. I understand that's they way the inventor wanted it and he has his reasons. BUT, like so many people on here have mentioned, 3 minutes is not long enough and I always want more time. There is a workaround for that issue if you look in the question/answer section on Amazon. I did this and now they play for a long time. I don’t know how long because I haven’t listened long enough bey it’s been 40 min and still chiming. My apologies to the inventor for hacking them, buy I like it a lot better now that it plays longer. I think the n.o.w. system is fantastic. It provides a wonderful calming effect. While using n.o.w., I feel like I can let go and lose myself in the tones. Quite enjoyable!

Simple and yet effective
Quite the most eclectic and also the most effective product I've ever owned, I lose track of time completely in the three minutes of audio, and something in the interplay of the two sound sets does what i can only describe as a soft reset of the brain. Judging by the responses from several people I've shared them with, the sounds are not universally appealing - if you're not sure, use the link on the product page to find the video on the seller's website - you can hear the tones in that video. But for me it works beautifully, and the results are a sense of calm and feeling 'centered'. Great before sleeping if you come home with a bunch of work stuff in your head, also good for just recentering yourself in the middle of the day. Update: one of the speakers stopped working after a few months. The customer service was excellent, with a quick exchange of emails i had a new speaker (no questions asked) via mail within 5 days and a prepaid return for the old one. Still a great buy and i continue to recommend this product very highly.

These are incredible
I bought these almost a year ago, and I've been meaning to post a review ever since, something I rarely do; but I think they are extraordinary. So extraordinary that I've bought three pairs, and given each of two to different close friends, who all love them as much as I do. Where do I start? First of all, I enjoy having them as OBJECTS. Their weight (rather substantial for their small size), rugged consrtruction, and silvery beauty are what makes them more effective than any recording of chimes or prayer bowel "music" I could have on my phone, computer or iPad. I have experimented with sound quality and volume using different environments for these two attractive discs. The only way to change the volume on each is the second little button, which can be pushed twice, each push increasing the volume. But there there also are other ways to affect both the volume and the tone quality of the chimes. For example, I have a plastic box that I currently keep them in, separated from each other by about 4 inches. The vibrations of the box increase the volume of the discs, and for me that is a plus. Depending upon where you put them, the tonal quality of the sound is different. If I put them on the couch, the material absorbs some of the sound, and a clean, not very loud sound is produced. If, on the other hand, I put them on a glass table top, the sound is larger and the quality more "echo-y." The other great thing about them is that the automatic 3-minute soundscapes they produce change endlessly. Every "melody" is a new one. What is more, these devices have a hellavuh battery, because they only need to be recharged every few months. Mostly I use them just before sleep. The moment those tones begin, my consciousness becomes part of them. Inevitably during a session, my mind wanders, but as soon as I become aware of not listening to them, my mind returns to listening. You need to stay loose about that. Any rigid attempt to "pay attention" won't relax you, so these mini-departures from listening feel natural and right. By the end of 3 minutes, the tension in my neck, shoulders, back, and legs starts to ease up. There's no occult mystery here. I went through a period quite a few years ago when I wanted to find out everything I could about hypnotism. What I learned is that hypnotism is just a method of distracting the focus of your consciousness. Despite current claims of multitasking, the brain can really only focus on one thing at a time, so, in hypnosis, the therapist will often have you stare at a spot on the wall, or even a small bright object swinging back and forth in front of your eyes like a pendulum. Once your mind becomes fixed on such minimal sensory input, the tensed muscles in your body, which are caused by anxious thoughts, probably without your realizing it, suddenly find themselves free of being told what to do by your perverse thoughts, and they let go, returning to their natural state of relaxation. Your muscles relax, because they've been released from the anxious thoughts that were making them tense up. You can't think those thoughts because your mind if fixed to a point on the wall or the movements of a swinging pendulum. I believe these chimes do the same thing, and this is such a pleasant experience!

Functionality is pretty basic for the high price
Great concept, but the functionality is very basic for the price. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to keep them. If the manufacturer addressed all the shortcomings, they would definitely be worth it. PROS: 1. Excellent sound quality. 2. The sound of the tones is absolutely beautiful and very soothing; similar to the sounds of Tibetan singing bowls. 3. The aesthetics of the devices are excellent. They have a hematite-like finish and the weight of them feels good in your hands; sort of grounding. CONS: 1. Three minutes is not long enough, particularly as it takes several seconds to put the devices down and settle into deep breathing after turning them on. The manual suggests that you use the two second pause after turning it on to take a deep breath, but you can't even put them down and put your arms back in a relaxed position in 2 seconds. 2. It would be wonderful too have at least three session length choices; perhaps 3 minutes, 6 minutes, and 12 minutes. 3. There are only three volume settings, and the lowest is still too loud. Unless you're laying on the floor or on a bed, there's no good place to put the devices so that they're not too loud.

I really enjoy these
These are so perfect my husband and I use them twice a day. We just feel balanced, very relaxing to use. Helps me to meditate, without my mind wandering. I had a problem with one speaker, a simple thing, and the company fixed the problem immediately.

Very highly recommended!
I've really enjoyed using the N.O.W. system, having tried my hand at many different methods of meditation and mindfulness, this system definitely helps me focus in ways I haven't achieved with any other method. I often find my work to be a source of anxiety and stress, but have found that using the N.O.W. system before and after work sessions has helped me greatly in my ability to connect and disconnect, making me more productive yet also more content in my home life. Very highly recommended!

Well made, wish for a little more feature
Product is well made, good sound. Wished it had a little more settings like a selectable timer of 3 minute and 5 minutes instead of just 3 minutes.
