Girrrrrrl... When I tell you that I have been on a JOURNEY to finding a shampoo that my hair and scalp like, I am not kidding. The money I have wasted on shampoo after shampoo only to be disappointed time and time again. UNTIL NOW. I can't say that it stopped my hair fall completely or even at all yet, I still notice shedding. But I do have underlying conditions and am on medication that can be factoring in to that. So many shampoos feel good the first 1 or 2 times I wash, seemingly less hair fall, but then start building up product on my hair that make it feel oily or waxy, so then I need to use a clarifying shampoo to get the product out and my hair feeling normal, meaning I'm having to buy another product just to take care of the first product and it's a never ending cycle and well, call me lazy, but it's a b*tch, girl. Ain't nobody got time or money for all that. I have been using this product for a couple months and I have never once felt like my hair was oily, waxy or building up product. My hair feels soft after washing and for the next 2 days. I'm very sensitive to smells and this one doesn't have a strong scent. It just smells clean. i also had an itchy patch on my scalp behind one of my ears and I noticed recently that it's gone away since using this product. Do be aware that it's not detangling, so if you usually get tangles after washing, make sure to have something for that.. I use my Paul Mitchell leave in conditioner after I wash my hair and it works great. Don't let the small size and high price tag scare you, cause it's worth it. I was at my wits end trying to find something that worked for me, ready to give up. I'm so glad I have this a try. I hope it works for you too!

I've notice less hair breakage and less hair loss in the shower and after brushing my hair out. Smell is not so great but it is tolerable. Bottle is large, it will last awhile. I wish it had a pump but none the less I will continue using

Recommend sorting by one-star reviews and reading. This instantly made my curly (thin) hair feel like straw and look frizzy and thinner than ever! Hair fall increased immediately with this product. The smell of my hair after it’s been washed and dried is truly awful, too. Ugh… please save yourself the hassle!

Great packing and fast shipment. I have a lot of hair but it’s thin and falls out all over so I’m trying this hair fall defense. I was turned onto Nixon 25 years ago after the birth of my first son my hair was falling out in clumps due to hormone changes. Nixon helped strengthen and produced more rapid hair growth. Because I have so much hair I stopped using it, but I noticed now that I’m in menopause my hair is falling out again so trying this again, also my husband’s hair is thinning so I bought him #2 Nixon to see if it’ll help him. I’ll update this here with results of both. Worth the price far less expensive than other brands and I trust the quality due to past experience. I love the minty feel and smell and my hair (which is also oily) feels so clean after.

As I continue in my quest of finding a product that will stop my hair loss, I had read an article about the new Nioxin Ultimate Power Hair Fall Defense shampoo. I decided to try it because they are a trusted brand and the reviews on here seemed hopeful and what do I have to lose besides more of my hair and my money. I actually had been encouraged by the mention of the fragrance in the AI overview. I thought great, I like fragrance and maybe Nioxin finally has that figured out. The price is a bit steep in my opinion so at least the shampoo could leave me with some clean wonderful smelling hair. I was deceived. Nioxin why does your shampoo still smell like your coworker who just took their smoke break and thought some mint chewing gum would cover it up but they just reek of stale cigarettes and mint?? I get the mint as it “stimulates” the scalp but can’t there be an improvement on the fragrance? To be noted, the shampoo lathers up beautifully and leaves my hair feeling nice and clean. I have to use extra conditioner on my ends but that’s not a deal breaker especially if it truly can lessen the excessive shedding. I also bought the Nioxin Ultimate Power Hair Fall Defense Serum to use along with it as recommended. I have only been using it for a few days and have not seen an improvement thus far but will update in a couple of weeks.

I have been experiencing aggressive hair fall for over two years and have been through every medical test and goo application that you can think of. Still, the hair continues to fall out. I finally just realized that I have to take care of my scalp and let the hair fall as it may. That's when I came upon this Nioxin shampoo. I had used the Nioxin system 2 shampoo for years because I love the way it washes my hair and how my hair feels. I stopped using it last year when I started with specialty shampoos but never forgot how I loved it as a shampoo alone. I decided to try this for that reason and it did not disappoint. My hair feels thick and nourished and my scalp doesn't hurt like it does with others in this genre. I have silver hair and I was also impressed by how pure the silver color is, after just one use of this shampoo. I interpret that to mean no yellowing additives are on board. So, 5 stars for this great shampoo as a cleanser and nourisher. I will have to report back in a few months to inform if the hair fall situation has improved. As a shampoo for now, I am very very happy with this.

Thicker, stronger hair! Slowed fallout, tiny amount goes a long way. It foams well and cleans scalp well, after using I use nioxin conditioner but hope they will make a conditioner for this. Once conditioned and detangler spray used out of shower I use johnsons detangler but unite is the best one. This leaves my hair so soft and thick feeling and looking. Love love the subtle scent.

It's not work for me

This is great love it helps heaps with losing hair and thinning hair I use twice a week has made a big difference my hair is thickening up again I have lots of new strands growing back highly recommend I also use a nixion conditioner with it

I was a hairdresser, so I know this product, I bought for my son , he have long hair and the falls too much. He said will see if its work on him. The product will act differently on different people, I mean, hair types, scalp health and reasons for the hairloss

I have been using this for several months. It smells amazing and its got kind of a tingly feeling once applied. I believe that it is making a difference with hair fall, and will continue to use for the forseeable future. It takes time to notice a difference. They do not have a conditioner that goes along with it.
