Does the water come out the end or does it go through the side near the tip? Sounds like the water might push things deeper in.

It goes through the end. Not pushing stuff in. The water fills the rectum and the large intestine. You hold the water. (Enema, colonic) The warm water softens impacted waste. Then when you release the water out comes the impacted waste.

What lubricants are safe to use with this?

Do NOT use Crisco as previously mentioned. Use either a commercial water based lubricant like KY or something natural and safe like coconut oil.

Missing tapered end as pictured in listing ball that does go on end is very sharp your over paying for a cheap piece of hose look elsewhere

I was skeptical at first but was glad i did this buy! only change would be an angle in the holes and add one on the tip top as when it's on it's kind of hard to not pressure wash the celling and walls HAHAHAH got a metal ball and plastic screw so it's random. Would say metal screw would be better less chance of breaking

These enema tubes were as pictured. They will clean you out quickly. Careful that you don't jam the tube in because under pressure the steel ball at end could be a projectile. It does the job, but it's better to be patient and slowly work it in
