Works when it wants.
Great appliance! A little noisy for my small studio, but I have learned to tune it out (most of the time). It is not refrigerated, so the ice does slowly melt in the bin, but it is constantly making new ice. In fact, it makes it surprisingly fast. I find myself refilling it a lot, not because the reservoir is particularly small, but because it's so convenient to grab ice for everything. As for ease of cleaning, it was a little bit confusing the first time I did it, but customer service walked me through the steps and then it was back up and running just fine. As for looks I think it is pretty compact considering, and I think the build feels like it was made with quality materials. Overall, it is a workhorse in my kitchen, and I think for the convenience it's fantastic. I would buy it again, no questions asked!!

Beware of ANY products from this seller!
This review is more about the company Atlantic Star than the product itself. First the product. It has a nice compact design and makes ice quickly. The nugget ice is great and easy to chew, if that is what you are looking for. Drawback, it dumps ice into the bin right in front of the bin full sensor, so the unit shuts off with the bin about 3/4 full. I bought mine at the end of Feb 2025 and it stopped working in early Oct 2025. After some digging on the manufacturer's website I found the 1 year warranty. The warranty is not printed in the product paperwork. Since I am well within the one year, I contact the company for a replacement. I get a reply via text asking for details and copies of the receipt. They then requested a video showing the product not working and how it was plugged in and various other details. I sent the requested video and after a week I reached out and they said they couldn't open the video, so I made another shorter on and sent that. By now it was late October. I never heard from them again. phone calls, texts and emails all go unanswered. So I contact Amazon, first call I am told "don't worry. we will contact the manufacture on your behalf and get back to you". Three weeks, no response from Amazon. I call today and am told, there are no notes entered from my previous call, just a record that I called and that there is nothing that Amazon will do. There are plenty of good ice makers out there I would just be VERY careful about buying one from Atlantic Star and also know that if something does happen, Amazon will NOT help if one of their sellers acts disreputably. I hope this helps someone.

Great customer service
I love the pebble ice maker. I actually bought 2 of them. I keep one on my deck in the summertime and I have one in my kitchen. The pebble ice in my opinion is so much better than the large chunky ice cubes that come from ice cube trays. I like not having ice cube trays taking up space in my freezer. I recommend using the gallon of drinking water you get at the grocery store, to fill. I have well water and used that a couple of times and the minerals and rust particles clogged it up. A good cleaning with vinegar took care of the problem. I contacted customer service and sent them a video of the sound it was making they responded immediately and advised to clean in vinegar. Worked like a charm. It’s does make a sound when running, but it is not too loud. The machine will automatically shut off if the ice begins to back up. As the ice melts it will remake on its own. I also fill a few freezer bags with extra ice to keep in the freezer. I highly recommend this product.

Perfectly servicable
Let's be honest: you're here because you want an Opal but can't justify spending $400-600 on a freaking ice maker. *Ease of use: The most complicated part of this ice maker is making sure the drainage plug is firmly inserted, as it won't operate otherwise. Take it out of the box, wipe it down, and run a 15-minute cleaning cycle before the first use. It's one-button operation--press once to make ice or hold for a few seconds to start the cleaning cycle. *Quality of ice: If you're a "Sonic ice" purist, this isn't the machine for you. The nuggets are smaller and a little harder than the Opal's nuggets, but they have a satisfying mouth feel and crunch, especially after they've been in a drink. *Noise: All ice machines make noise--that's unavoidable. When this one is humming along, it's comparable to a microwave. I put mine in the garage, and it's not like the walls are shaking from the vibrations. *Quantity of ice: The bin isn't enormous--this isn't the machine you want for an ice-loving family of four. A full bin is enough to fill at least a couple of big tumblers. NB: if you follow the instructions and move the ice around in the bin during the production cycle, you'll get more ice because the machine won't mistakenly think the bin is full. *Bottom line: Is this ice maker going to revolutionize the beverage industry? No, but it's easy to operate, it does what it says on the box, and it doesn't cost as much as a car payment.

Nice sonic size ice, a lot easier than making your own
This is the first ice making machine I’ve ever owned, the ice maker on our refrigerater went out and I got tired of making ice, I run it usually every other day, I did try making two rounds of ice in one day and it made a squealing sound, I think it may have gotten too hot, the next time I used it there was no sound. It’s fairly quiet, not any louder than a microwave. Ice tastes good, I do use filtered water from both the faucet and then a filtered water pitcher. We have fairly hard water so I do descale it more frequently to extend the life of it. I would recommend it if you don’t need a lot of ice, for one or two people max. I’ve not tried running it more than once to know whether or not it made that noise again. I generally stick to every other day, summer coming it might end up every day. For my needs it’s been a good machine.
