An excellent vacuum extractor with many uses
This operates from a compressed air supply, it doesn't use much air so would be suitable for use on most 25 litre and above compressors. These vacuum extractors are used commercially to extract engine oil from the engine sump via a tube inserted down the dipstick hole. This something I don't use it for as I prefer to drain the oil from the sump pan, I always think I can get more dirty oil out using that method.I use mine mostly for bleeding hydraulic brakes and hydraulic clutches were I find it gives excellent results and makes a one person job of it. I have also used it to suck out coolant from a radiator when I just needed to change a top hose and didn't want the mess of taking the bottom hose off and draining that way. Using it for the radiator in this way meant I could reuse the coolant I extracted so no waste to get rid of and no expensive coolant to purchase (I cleaned the container first of course). The top is held on by a few screws and nuts and is sealed to the body with a nice o-ring.I have had this for several years now and it is still in perfect working order and has not been damaged by brake fluid or any other fluid I've sucked up with it.

So glad I bought one
I have had a wood burner for a year, initially bought seasoned wood, but soon found that getting logs from people who have cut down trees and splitting is much cheaper. So tried splitting with splitting Maul, that is hard work and if you don't have the room to swing an axe even harder so I bought a foot splitter, that is hard work too, finally took the plunge to buy the electric splitter, this was the best value for money of the larger splitter, it arrived and was ready to use out of the box but you have to fit the stand, i used at first with out the stand. I split for 2 hours a pile of Elm logs that I have had for over 12 months, Elm is one of the hardest wood to split and using a maul was near impossible, this machine was easy to use and made it quick. I did 30 minutes on my own and then go someone to help that was much easier as one operates the machine while the other loads and stacks the wood. If you have a wood burner and are going to get your own wood this will make your life so much easier for the splitting. Don't waste your money on a foot splitter. just go for one of theses I am going to get the stand sorted for it later and split a load more wood I have got. over the next few days I will split a few tons of wood.

The only purpose for this crap is junk waste of time and a waste of money.DONT BUY IT.

Great piece of kit
I have been using a Workmate since they first came out but found the jaws closing from both ends never gripped anything but a long piece of wood as well as I would have liked. It was also difficult to find a 100% flat surface to give the Workmate stability. Seeing this Jawhorse design on American television whist on holiday I thought I would buy one if they came to the UK. The Jawhorse is pretty heavy but that gives it great stability and there is a roller so you can wheel it around. It folds up much smaller than the Workmate. The grip on the jaws is amazing and as the jaws are locked shut with a foot pedal it enables you to hold the work you are placing in the jaws with both hands. It is extremely well made and a great design. The jaws are quite hard to slide open but I guess that is a lot better than them sliding open when you are folding the Jawhorse up. The Workmate still has a place and for certain jobs the better choice. Which type would I choose if I could only have one - the Jawhorse type, even better if you can have both, that would cover every eventuality.
