Superb Circulation Pump At A Great Price
If you're looking for a circulation pump by all accounts your search should end here. Water circulators do a number a number of positive things and this little gem by Aqueon does them all perfectly well.Added circulation disperses even temperature within the tank, adds surface turbulence which draws in life giving oxygen far better than traditional spray bars and control algae - especially brown algae. What is more, they'll increase the efficiency of your filters and help to keep your water pristine. This is truly plug and play. Out of the box and into the tank! it's an effortless installation all you need to do is snap on the cover and attach the unit to the mounting bracket. The directional swivel is excellent as well and the outflow is wide and even allowing you to place the direction where you like, knowing it will stay there. The pump is surprisingly small with it's low profile and small footprint so it's not obtrusive in your tank. What is more, these are exceptionally quiet and have a very good and sound build quality. This is evident at once and the lack of noise and vibration is a welcome pleasure. You can pay much more for a similar pump but why would you? this one (I bought the 1250) and find the entire line a superb value.Aqueon makes great products and they back these pumps up with a lifetime warrantee - which to me speaks volumes about the product itself and the company that stands behind them.

Going strong for a couple months now
I got this pump for my 55 gallon African Cichlid setup and it has worked well. It moves just enough water to keep O2 levels up without blowing smaller fish into the glass. I mounted the pump so that the top sits about 2" below the water line and aim it towards the surface. Since adding this, I've noticed that my fish are more active and sometimes appear to be enjoying the current. I turn it off a couple hours a day to give them some down time and haven't had any problems with it starting up or overheating my tank, which stays around 80 degrees. My decision was between this pump or the Koralia model. I'm happy with my decision and hope it holds up well for the long run. This company includes a warranty card that boasts a lifetime warranty but I haven't had any contact with them yet.WARNING: As I mentioned before, sometimes I turn the pump off, especially at night. Well, I left it off for an extended period and one of my catfish got into the pump from the front. Well, he didn't make it. So if you turn it off, make sure it's clear before you plug it back up.Sorry lil buddy. :(

Listen to their tank size recommendations!!!
Great unit but too powerful for my 36 long. I always buy "the next size up," as it tends to keep the fish & plants happier. Bigger filter, more lighting, etc., but listen to their recommendations on this one! I just got my 950 in today, and unfortunately it had to be pulled out after a few minutes. When my last crappy power head died, I decided to go this route. I'll be replacing it with a smaller unit.Pros:Quiet, really quiet. Way quieter than any of the numerous power heads I've ever had!The mounting seemed quite secure, I really liked it for a suction cup mount.Size was quite reasonable for the amount of water it flowed. It flows a LOT of water.Cons: (only if you have a small tank)It flows a LOT of water.Makes your otocinclus wave against the glass like a flag in a hurricane.Immediately kicks up all debris on the bottom and makes it impossible to see the plants its uprooting.I'm downsizing the unit, and I'm sure it'll work great.

Not a great pump
I purchased this pump for my 75G aquarium and it does help circulate the water and keep debris off the sand. However, due to a few issues I can only give it a three star rating.1. The suction cup using to secure it to your aquarium's glass does not work great. Even after using the holding clamp mine still comes off the glass a couple times a week. That is not acceptable.2. It's louder than I had hoped. I like a silent aquarium and this thing pretty much negates that. I produces a very noticeable hum when running. All of the rest of the equipment on my tank is silent, not this pump! For those two reason I can't give this pump a great review. It does do a good job circulating my water, but it doesn't do it very easily or quietly. If you are looking for a good circulation pump I would suggest the Hydor Koralias. They use magnets to hold the pump in place and are operate virtually noise free. Unless you don't care about noise or sticking your hand in tank water a few times a week I cannot recommend this pump.

get enough water movement for my baby dwarf plants to grow up (dispersing CO2 better through the sustrate) and control algae a b
Very powerful pumps. I bought two of these for a 100G tank a month ago. Had to turn off one because they were so powerful my plants will start flying everywhere. Even had to cut the propeller blades a bit, but still is too powerfull. I'm gonna order the 500GPH to see if those achieve what I wanted with these ones, get enough water movement for my baby dwarf plants to grow up (dispersing CO2 better through the sustrate) and control algae a bit. My advice with planted aquariums is to get a lower model from the recommended one for the size of your tank, and even smaller model if you are planning to buy more than one.

???
Um I wish I could give this a neutral review.I mean people love this thing. But for my turtle tank it was a little too powerful and blew them and my fish across the tank of my 90g tank half filled. After selling it for a $4 loss to someone the day I got it. I guess I should have tried pointing it directly at the glass so the flow kind of bounces back.I will say this though: this thing is pretty dang huge compared to the hydro koralia nano that I purchased after and a little noisier than the Hydor too. Other than that for the one day I did use it it was super strong and all parts seem well made.

Fantastic
We bought this so that there was more air flow for our tank and it was the best price that we could find anywhere, had it for a couple of months now and is still working and our fish arn't dead so it must be good.

Just ok
They are ok. Big, bulky, poor swivel, water movement seems mediocre. They are quiet and reliable though. I think SunSun wave makers are superior for a lower price.

Excellent circulation pump for my 55 gallon Cichlid tank. Extremely quiet and the fishes love it.

Fair
Little under powered doesn’t seem to have as much output as claimed. Still a good pump regardless
