Great for adding 2.5G PoE ports to your nerwok
Great little device for adding 2.5g PoE ports to your network. Uplink is 10G standard Network ports (Not SFP+) Been looking for ages for a switch with this config. This overcomes integration issues with different network switches. I use Aruba instant on 1960 switches which support 10g ports. This fixes the lack of 2.5G ports Plugged it in and worked first time (It does not show up on the network) The only thing missing on this little switch is the lugs that will allow mounting in a 19’’ rack

Yes you can connect non PoE devices
The one question I had was can i plug in non-PoE devices into the PoE ports. The answer is yes. This isn't passive PoE like you would get with a PoE injector, its the 802 af / at standard which is actively negotiated before power is sent. If that doesn't happen, no power, meaning anything that isn't af / at compliant wont get fried. Also it comes with rack ears for 19” rack mounting, which wasn't in the description when i bought it. Replacing a Zyxel XGS 1210-12 and so far it's performing fine, powering 3 PoE access points and creating less heat than the XGS did even when the PoE was supplied with injectors. Reliability long term remains to be seen but so far it's a better unit than the Zyxel with more features less heat and less money, recommended. --------------- EDIT After 7 months of moderate 24/7 use - still chugging along fine, aside from a handful of power cuts it hasn't even been rebooted. Now powering 4x PoE access points with plans to also power a couple of raspberry pis too which should juuuuuust about be doable with the 130w PoE budget. Still a solid recommendation, and if you don't need quite so many ports the same manufacturer also makes much cheaper 8-port versions with similar features which are going for 67 or so at time of writing.

A great little PoE switch but be careful of SFP+ temp
Great Little switch to support 2.5Gb. Got 2 to replace a couple of 1Gb main-brand PoE switches. Also bought some 10Gb SFP+ modules to link 1 to my fibre router and to link the 2 switches together. Be warned though that 10Gb (also 1Gb) RJ45 SFPs can run very hot, upto 70°C so may attach both a small fan to the RHS (SFP side) vent, and heat sinks to the SFPs themselves to manage the heat. Only 4 stars as the switch does need some heat management in this circumstance.

Doesn't support SFP... At all!!
The 8 x 2.5 with 2 x SFP+ version I bought clearly doesn't support SFP at all. The minute you plug an SFP cable into one of the SFP ports, the switch just dies. Completed dies and won't power on. When you unplug the SFP it then comes back to life. What's the point of having SFP ports if they don't work?? Before you ask, but maybe it's just a faulty one received, no it isn't. I bought multiple and they all do the same thing!

Good but loud after a few months
Good as it does the job but after a few months the fan started to get really really really loud. I should have read the reviews before purchasing…

Der Switch gefällt mir. Er funktioniert seit mehreren Wochen ohne Störungen. Er fühlt sich kühl an. Die Internetgeschwindigkeit ist stabil, obwohl alle Ports belegt sind.

I wanted to change all possible of our living room entertainment devices back to WIRED networking. Some were using Wi-Fi the past few years as I upgraded a couple devices and along the way my earlier switch died. I have only 2 wired in-wall drops at the location, so a switch is necessary. To have the absolutely most minimally cluttered installation, I generally opt for extremely short, custom-length patch cables. Since short patch cables can really place some "push" on light devices due to the "strain" inherent in a cable that is likely bent between the switch and the target device, it is critical things be screwed down so they don't move around. It also really helps things to look intentionally and neatly installed. This switch works great both in the networking sense and in the aesthetic sense mentioned above. Since 1G is MORE than adequate to carry H.265 video at 4K (to say nothing of much simpler FLAC and OGG audio files) I expect to be using this diminutive switch at client locations in similar future installs. The indicator lights are useful and UNDERSTATED, so they are not an eyesore in an entertainment setup. The only way in which this product would be better is if it were "managed" and able to tag VLAN traffic, but that's a ridiculous proposition for a $13 device and certainly unnecessary when in reality all 4 attached "entertainment" devices are likely within the same VLAN anyway! I *did* have one frustrating issue. Not a single #4 pan-head screw I tried would fit (in the "height" dimension) in the mounting cutout. To deal with this I disassembled the switch and cut one of the tabs left in the stamping operation of each of the two cutouts. This gave enough "headroom" for the screws. Be careful if you do this! I made sure the remaining metal "flap" did not touch any of the leads or other conductive elements of the logic board! I was actually really surprised at this situation since I habitually mount small devices for clients (and here at home) and have a wide variety of very small screws. The pan-head height is *slightly* different between manufacturers and I expected to find one which would have fit. My guess is that most "DIY" installers might use a wood screw (with conical head). The aspect and height of such a small screw WOULD fit, but that can place unwanted strain on the metal housing . . . A pan-head is the correct choice and distributes the mounting force properly across the edges of the punchout. Try this device, I doubt you will be disappointed!

Switch worked great for 3 months, then the fan started running VERY loudly at all times. Possibly something broke internally. Hoping customer service will help and I can remove this review. Switching to 5 star review because customer service handled the issue after some cajoling, and because it worked very well until this issue.
