Best in sound and reception quality far above from panasonic and sony. Outstanding performance in every bands such as MW FM TV but SW insome extent. I think SW programs/broadcast are day by day reduced or may not reach to the set. MW and FM takes it's place. The only things where improvement reduced are ordinary cabinet,no dial light,no transformer,no rechargeable battery, no blue tooth or USB support and the antenna is not placed in right position may be little front or back for free movement of handle. Still I like it's very low price i.e,below 1300/- and overall quality. The most remarkable future is it's signal receiving quality with less noise disturbance.

This is a very basic radio - tuner button, volume button, band selector & adapter input. It has no extra features like headphone socket or USB. However the signal pickup is very exceptional. It catches so many stations. It is delivered without any adapter or batteries. If you put your own batteries (D-size) you can take the radio wherever you go!!

I purchased a Phillips transistor about one month ago.Put in brand new cells and started tuning the stn on FM.it was creating trouble.Thinking that something is wrong on broadcasting network time passed. Soon 10 day return window got over. Being a person who is neither computer savy not mobile expert I simply replacked- it. The warranty certificate is there but there are no longer any Phillips dealer network. The purchase experience has been terrible to say the least. I have been conned/ taken for a ride. Now the set is not even coming on. It has brand new cells. This is the condition of FM band. I am sure the SW band does not work at all from the very beginning. Tor it seems that some "scrap dealer"/ kabari has purchased a closing company's (Phillips) stock at throughaway price and now with the Help of Amazon it is making hay by conning gullible Customers who want to relive their old times by hearing music on Radio & transistor sets.

Very good Radio. Great Sound. Retro feel. Bought in year 2018. Still it is working fine without fault. Reception is good.

pros : was able to catch the fm anywhere inside the home which other radios struggled audio is very clear and loud as well delivery was on the same day and packing was decent cons: terrible build quality, the volume and tuning knobs will come off any time batter opener doesn't fit well for this price, at least Philips should give adapter. In this case no adapter and non batteries, you have to buy them all yourself the station range mentioned is out of context, thats a paper which doesn't match with indicator

I am a Radio Enthusiast, listening to shortwave far stations and dissecting old AM circuits is my hobby. So i have tested this product in my own way. reception quality for FM : good For FM, sensitivity is good for FM. FM antenna connection has been connected to an external dipole antenna, so you will need to extend it all the way every time you want to tune into an FM station. Reception quality for Shortwave: i have tried dimantling the coil of ferrite antenna on this Radio, coil is wounded very cleanly. but coil length is toooo short, above 45 metres reception is very bad. Signal gain increases a bit when you extend antenna to its full. sensitivity for shortwave is not at all good. weak stations are not at all herable. Reception quality for Medium Wave:- Medium wave will only work at night, that to if you have no electrical interference at room. TV band:- not at all useful, because analogue TV signal services have been suspended by Prasar Bharti. so nothing to explore here sound: nice speaker, sound is good for all the bands(if you have strong signal)
