Already chopped in small pieces, they are ready to use. I have used them in a banana, date and walnut cake and they were delicious. I have also added a handful in my porridge for sweetness instead of golden or maple syrup and it was perfect, very tasty. I am aware that this product is organic and a healthy choice however I think that they are overpriced. At £7.99 for 500g it is more than I would like. The packaging is really well thought out though.
