It's heavier than "standard" weight but not as heavy as "heavy" weight. Nicely warm but usually not too much for winter 67 degrees indoors. Tight, thick knit makes it a fair windbreaker. Came through two washes with only subtle pilling on the fluffy inside and barely noticeable pilling on the outside, looks almost new from the dryer. Sewing is high quality; no threads came loose in the wash.I'm a woman, size 10, 5'9". I bought XL. Long enough to cover much of my bottom and the sleeves reach to my fingertips. Fits almost like a man's XL Tall. Crew neck is comfortable. Sleeve seams are only about 2" below my shoulder. The bottom band hangs away from my hips and I could have done with a L or maybe even M. It's quite baggy on me, which is just fine. All in all, an excellent choice for the kind of sweatshirt I wanted.
