I don't know if i would trust them to not fall out of the tumbler if it fell a couple of feet. Also the spill proof flap does not fold back out of the way so your nose hits it when you tilt the cup to take a drink. I wanted to be able keep my drink hot and to avoid spilling while carrying it around. The seal around the cup is good and the actual lid (black piece) has a snug fit into the sip hole. For some it might require two thumbs to lift open. This might ease up after time? But the design flaw that I see is on the underside of the black flap, the gray silicone piece. While sipping, the little oval gray piece hits the bridge of my nose. I'm a 5' tall woman with a small nose so it bothers me.
