The 'Magic' in SoundMagic is true!
Alright, you are thinking - what a tall boast! Anything backing it up? And so, here we are: If you do not wish to read through the review, although I won't geek out a thousand words, there is a TL;DR version at the bottom. Also, wherever necessary I have added extra notes for explaining jargon - like this: [1], [2] ... - which are accumulated after the review. First, let's get to the specifications. Please do not think of specs as redundant or useless; in fact, they are helpful in indicating what a headphone is capable of and what are its limitations. Brand - SoundMagic Product - E10C Sound - Stereo Minimum Frequency Response - 15 Hz (Note: This means on the bass side of things, where 20 Hz [1] is normal for humans, this 15 Hz gives our E10C a decent bass) Connector Plating - Gold (Note: which is excellent) Technology - Wired Impedance - 16 Ohm (Note: at this price point, the impedance [2] is of no consequence, all you need to know is that your laptop or smartphone should be enough to drive [2a] the E10Cs) Cable Length - 1.2 meters (Note: decent) Maximum Frequency Response - 22,000 Hz (Note: Standard) Driver Size - 10 mm (Note: standard [3]) Form - In-ear Weight - 11 g Interface - Play/Pause, Skip/Back, Volume (Note: Volume works with 95% of the smartphones; it did not work with mine but that's a non-issue, skip/back are working) The Japanese company SoundMagic really knows what they are doing. There is solid engineering behind every earphone they come out with, and while some are misses, a lot of them are hits and the E10C is one of the latter. You will not find better sounding earphones in this budget. As you will see on the box and on various audiophile websites, this earphones have been awarded. Yes, awarded. But all this won't mean a thing until you try them on. Now they come with an array of earbud tips (as pictured), and you can pick out what fits you the best. Put them in. They are light and comfy. Both iOS and Android users can listen through as it has a switch for manually changing between devices. In fact the 'C' in E10C stands for compatibility. It just works. Additionally, the in-line buttons give you volume, track skipping and play/pause controls. The 3.5 mm jack is angled at 60 degrees, which makes life easy. A twisted 1.2 m cable should make it last a long time. The sound from these earphones is well balanced. You will feel the energy of a metal track without missing a beat. The mids [4] are pleasing, clear, which makes the vocals open and level. As lively as the bass is, the highs are distinct and smooth. This makes for a great overall listen. You will be lost in your music for hours. And your time will be well-spent. End Notes [1] Humans can hear from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz. Anything under 20 Hz is felt and not heard - which is the bass you guys love so much [2] Impedance is resistance to the flow of current. At high impedance the manufactures can make even better sounding headphones as the drivers - which are in the earbuds - have less chance of distortions seeping in [2a] In simple words, a smartphone, a laptop or an amplifier 'drives' - gives power - to your earphones, which means that high impedance headphones are harder to drive. 6 to 40 Ohm is a good range to be driven by smartphones and laptops, but you'll need an amplifier for anything above 60 Ohm [3] All you need to know is that 10 mm is good enough. The normal range for IEM (in ear monitors) is 8 mm to 15 mm. Loudness or quality is not dependent on the size [4] I will use very simple language to demystify this most used audiophile jargon - highs: think cymbals, the 'tss' part of ba dum 'tss' on a drum. Or when a singer does an elongated, and high 'aaaaa'. So, does that 'tss', or the 'ting', or the 'aaaaa' sound clear and distinct? Highs are good! Mids: when your voice crackles, or is raspy, or when you whisper sweet nothings to your partner - those are the perfect mids! Here lie most of the vocals and if you can hear the timbre, the tone cleanly, you've got good mids! Now lows everyone knows! Just another way of saying bass. It is better felt than heard. The air moves to the plucking of a bass string, and you hear a 'thrum'. The more popular one though is the 'boom boom' sound. TL;DR If you care about how you consumer your music, if you are looking for a gateway to understand how music should sound like, or if you simple want a simple good pair earphones without breaking the bank - you will not be disappointed. + Detailed, clear sound Solid design Switching between iOS and Android Sturdy build Cheap for what they offer - None at this price point

Awesome , High build quality, excellent sound, good bass , perfect treble
I'm writing after 2 yrs of use. I bought it at 15xx . I exactly dont remember price. I m using nokia 7 plus, had used it on dell laptop, mac book pro... For music Sound quality for this price I would say premium or best . Bass quality is not best but its very good. Treble is perfect. Every instruments can be distinguished. Discovered news instruments used for music in the same song that i used listened for years. Noice cancellation is good. For calling mic is low performance. To supress noise it reduces the audio input so many time people complained i m speaking either from far or low. So had to keep mic near to mouth while talking. But the voice clarity is really good. Based Recoreding using the mic in it. Build quality. I m rough user , i dont care much , many time it got pulled but still after 2 years of use there is no harm. So build quality is awesome. Today the only issue i m facing is that few minths ago i dont remember how its jack got a vey little bent, so need to adust for m8c while using my nokia 7 plus but other devices it no issues. I would recommend it. Plug it deep in ear raise volume enjoy the immersive sound . Enjoy you fav song.

Better earphones require "Better Device"
This is my fourth pair of earphones in the last three years. Other three being Soundmagic PL21, Sennheiser CX180 Street II, JBL CS150. Coming to the earphones, I have been using it for four months. Bought it for ₹1699, copper colour. Build quality: It has really great build quality. The earpiece, control buttons unit and jack, all are made of machined aluminium. The wires are thin, contoured and shiny but feel sturdy enough to take some beating and don't catch dust and grime. Accessories: Seven pairs of buds to get the perfect personalized fit for that great music experience. A much needed carrying case and other stuff. Sound quality: With having an okay ear, I could understand the quality and details of music. One thing that I've noticed a lot in the reviews that everyone seems to blame the earphones but not their device. It depends a lot on the device you use. I'll give you an example. I have a Redmi 2 Prime phone. On this device, the sound qualiy was good. I was able to feel the clarity, bass etc, but not to a great extent. Later I got Mi A1. It has an inbuilt 10V DAC amplifier. The first time I plugged it in, I was like, this is how it's supposed to sound like. It was underperforming with Redmi, cause the impedance requirement is higher than other earphones and the amplifier really upped the game. The sound is louder, clearer and has wider sound stage. I can feel the tiniest of sound all because of the Mi A1. Hence, guys, don't just judge your earphones by using it on a single device, try a couple of other phones. Maybe your phone isn't capable enough. I am quite satisfied with it. One thing I would like to add is, if you are looking for bassy earphones, please don't go for it. This has a very balanced sound. No mid to high range earphones will have bass centric sound output. If I have to talk about comfort, I would rate CX180 the most. It was so comfortable that I could wear it for more than 5-6 hours at a stretch without even feeling that it's there. While using this one, it begins to mark it presence after 3 hours. I was in a fix while purchasing as I was also looking at Beyerdynamic Byron, but it was pricier at ₹3200( made in Germany, though) and came with nothing but a pouch. Hence, my suggestion to anyone looking for a really good pair of earphones is that you can go for this, provided your phone gives the output to match the performance levels of this earphone. Otherwise, it will perform like a supercar, being ridden in traffic. Won't be able to entertain the way it's supposed to.

I ordered these as a replacement for my old LG Quadbeat 3's that came with my phone, and they're the first reasonable premium earphones that I've ever owned. At first I was a bit sceptical about the sound they produced, thinking at one point that they were broken when listening to some certain songs, however; after using them for a couple of weeks I realized that they were not faulty at all, and they simply allowed me to hear certain sounds and notes in songs that I'd never heard before. The bass of these things is really clear, and the clarity of voice is better than I've heard from any other earphones (including a friend's Beats, but we all know they're a rip off). I love the design of them, the gold-on-black patterns contrast really well, and the aluminium construction makes them feel very premium. The cable itself is a braided cable that has been wrapped in plastic, giving it this strange knobbly effect that rarely tangles. The earphones also come with a great little carry case, and a shed load of spare silicon rubber tips and AUX adapters, along with a cable clip to take pressure off your ears. It seems that SoundMagic actually cares about providing an all-around great product, and they've definitely done so with these. If you're in the market for some new earphones and you want to upgrade from your bog standard cheap pairs, I highly recommend these and I'm sure you'll be equally as pleased as I am. If you've found this review helpful, please click 'Yes' below, cheers!

I bought these headphones a little over three years ago. They still work great except the microphone stopped working at some point. I have never had ear bud headphones last this long without one of headphone going out. These headphones are incredible value. Sound quality is great. Probably the best sound quality of any earbuds in the sub $100 range. Ive taken this bad boy on the train, in the rain, knotted in my pocket for weeks, through the washing machine multiple times, 3 years of sweaty texas 5 mile runs and the sound quality is still great. Im buying another pair this weekend.
