Lost Ocean

A beautiful Ocean!
I've already started colouring in the book. The paper is thick. There is no bleeding onto the other side. I use the Faber Castell fine liner pens to colour. The book reached me after a long wait (I pre-ordered it). It is every thing I thought it would be and so much more. Intricate designs. Fun and beautiful! The book itself also looks bigger than I thought it would be too.The delivery was done very well. It was out for delivery when half the city was flooded and there was rains but they managed to get it to me without any damage. They braved the tough weather and made it without a scratch. So well done!

Great book, highly recommend if you're looking to start ...
Great book, highly recommend if you're looking to start colouring again after a while, wouldn't recommend it to people who like to finish quick as most of the pieces are very detailed, you'd require a nice set of water colour pencils & fine tipped (00.2 tip) ink pens is a must with this book as some work is too detailed for pencils. Great cover design, lots of fun treasures hidden in the art to find, there's a key at the back of the book as well as a lovely large folded piece that you can remove from the book and frame, it is double sided as well so you have a choice from a seascape and a block print. Great find ''

AMAZING book for art therapy
If anybody out there is struggling with PTSD, depression or anxiety, I would HIGHLY recommend this book! Johanna Basford is the BEST! Everytime I open this book, it feels like a new book, even if I've coloured a page prior. Its just so magical! Love it! It helps you release your suppressed emotions. Kudos to Johanna Basford.

Fantastic Colouring Book..worth the money
This is the first colouring book I got..and I am in love with it. Lovely detailed pictures..You can even colour the front and back cover and also the acknowledgement pages..!!The one I bought was an ordinary edition..(as I intent to use only colour pencils) so the paper quality is Ok ok..If you are an artist and want to use water colours..then go for the ärtist"edition..The paper quality is a lot better..Not sure if that edition is available in India

Amazing illustrations with an amazing material
Loved this book! You can literally colour on every page! And the material of the paper is so great that it helps in giving an even shade when you're using colour pencils! Colouring for adults is a great activity and is a beautiful way to reduce stress in life! Highly recommended if you don't like to while your time away on TV and social media!

Ocean based theme..
Lovely illustrations based on the marine theme which is my favorite. Paper quality is excellent. Currently using fine liners and water color pencils for coloring.Overall a good experience.

Another gem of a book
This is the third colouring book by johanna basford, and have to say, is as good as the previous two ( secret garden and enchanted forest) the paper in this one is a beautiful pure white, whereas the paper in the other two is an ivory/cream colour. I have used staedtler fine liners, and stabilo fibre tipped pens, with no bleed through yet. Faber castell coloured pencils and Prismacolor pencils are also beautiful to use because the paper is so smooth you can get a good even coverage. The designs range from fairly easy, to almost ridiculously intricate ( magnifying glass time) As with all of johanna's books, the detail is amazing, and I simply love it. I've included a few photos so you can get the gist of the type of book it is.

Honest review
The media could not be loaded. Nice colouring book you can be at it for even a year! I loved it initially but eventually found things that could be improved. The paper is not thick, I’ve added in a photo where u can see if you push on with a coloured pencil (I’m using the Fibre Castell coloured pencils) you can see from the back that it leaves a dint for the piece on the other side. Easy to rip as well if your pencil is too sharp. With alcohol markers it bleeds through as expected but still for the price they could have included better quality thick paper yano. But it is what it is. I don’t really mind just thought I’d give an honest opinion. I’m still going to use it and colour in it, just a little annoying that’s all really.

May need bigger eyes for this one...
The artwork is just staggeringly lovely. You'd have to be out of your trolley to suggest otherwise. But it's just too delicate and detailed for me: I am old, my eyesight isn't as good as it once was and these ancient hands have been so broken and healed all wrong through decades of misuse and abuse that holding a fat oil' paint brush is difficult, never mind the kind of fine-tipped pens you'd need to do a good job of this.Happily, I have a granddaughter who is much better equipped to tackle a job like this than I am, so hopefully all will end well. The only reason I don't give this five stars is because it's too fiddly for *ME*I would fully expect those with better vision and good hands to give it 5 stars, because if you can cope with this sort of finesse it would be a dream come true.

Paper Not As Good Quality.
I've given the book a 3 star rating until I colour something in. I didn't read any reviews before buying this as the other two titles were high quality that I felt confident enough to jump in blind. I know there were issues with the colour of the pages on the other two titles with some buyers receiving bright white pages and others relieving cream. I recieved cream versions of secret garden and enchanted forest and even between those two there's a significant difference, I wasn't to bothered if I recieved white for lost ocean thinking the quality if the paper would be the same.My copy has just arrived, it's printed in Italy if that makes a difference. Yes the pages a bright white, which makes the book look lower quality, although I appreciate this is just personal preference, however on feeling the paper, it's a lot thinner than the other two titles and does not feel anywhere near as nice as the other two. Flicking through to see the images doesn't feel as magical as it did with the other two, and isn't filling me with inspiration the same way. It feels more like a Millie Marotta title, which while they are good, it isn't what I was expecting from a Basford title. I've included a picture to show the differences I have between all titles, for reference my Secret Garden is printed in Netherlands, my Enchanted Forest printed in China and Lost Ocean printed in Italy, if there was an option to choose a specific country I'd return, but as I only bought this to meet the free delivery total on another order I'm thinking of it as a freebie, which makes it feel a little bit more special.EDITED April 2016 As promised I've returned, I've now coloured an image and upped the stars to four. I've used felt tips and FineLiners and they didn't bleed, they shadowed a little. I still refer the heavy creamy paper of my other two prints of her previous books, but this isn't as bad as I thought when I first bought it. There's some gorgeous completed works online.

The book is a copy
When it came i was very disappointed. Now I found why I was disappointed, it's a fake/copy of the real one. I did wonder why this book nothing like any other of Johanna Basford's books I've got. The paper is thin. If you use coloring in pens, the ink goes through to the other side. I guess it's just luck if you get the real one but I advise you not to get it from here.
