Good for learning for children. About A4 size with plenty of colourful illustrations Got for a 9 year old and have been going through the book together to make sure they understand and I have learnt a few things and refreshed my own knowledge.At this price point I would of liked it to have a few more pages. Overall, a good illustrated book.

I like this Science-ology book all about palaeontology. It really brings the topic alive and makes palaeontology sound very interesting.The book covers a lot and doesn't dumb it down for kids. It covers things like the origin of the word palaeontology, how fossils are formed (with the aid of a nice flow diagram), what being out on a dig might be like, what tools a palaeontologist might use, how fossils are "prepared", how palaeontologists can help museums or movie makers, "could prehistoric life really come back?", and more. It ends with "is palaeontology your ology?"Along the way it's good to have some photos alongside the drawn diagrams. For example a photo of a T Rex fossil skeleton next to a person really brings the scale of the dinosaur to life, more than a simple drawn diagram would have. Also various case studies along the way also bring the subject alive. For example the case study of Mary Anning who found a massive ichthyosaur skeleton fossil at age 12 shows that even if you are young you can fossil hunt.All-in-all a great book that is educational, inspirational and informative. 5-stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book is one of a set of six covering various scientific subjects.It is full of interesting facts about fossils and the old adage that you are never too old to learn something new is certainly true as I have been finding out things I didn't know while checking out this bookIt is well written in short bursts of information so as to keep the interest of the younger readers. The artwork is colourful and is interspersed with actual pictures.Any child with an inquisitive mind is sure to enjoy this .Priced at £13.99 at time of review it isn't cheap but it is very informative.
