I researched and read reviews on inexpensive,but not cheep,multimeters. I am a DIY Man,if at all possible. This meter exceeds my needs and is safe to use. Unlike most unknown brands,this brand does have TV ads.

It works well

Great meter for an economical cost.

I already have a couple of digital multimeters but with a home shop, a race car trailer, a motorhome, and a few other vehicles in the fleet, it’s handy to have a multimeter at hand when you need one. When I saw this one on Amazon, it looked like it would fit the bill and the price was not great but okay.A nice surprise when opening the package was that the 3 AAA included batteries appeared to be genuine Duracell. This is a nice change from the no-name batteries that usually come with devices.The meter comes with two test leads that have needle/pointed ends; they include caps that cover most of the needle but these caps can be easily removed. There is also a temperature probe and a soft carry case.About 99 percent of the time, I just use meters like this one for checking voltage (DC or AC) and continuity. That’s what I tested out with this meter and it worked just fine from my perspective. I like the fact that it is auto ranging and also that voltage will read either AC or DC with the same test lead connections.One significant drawback for me is that there is no provision for an alligator clip on either lead. I frequently need an alligator clip on one or both leads when using a multimeter like this. I know that I can purchase another set of leads with this feature but, at almost $26, I think they should be included. Minus one star for this.Otherwise, this seems to be a good unit and I am looking forward to giving it a more complete workout in the future.

This thing is almost automatic. It works great used it for automotive electrical check fantasticIt comes with a great little instruction manual .Did more than I expected for the price.

The media could not be loaded. The price at time of order was $10, so the review takes this price heavily into account.For 10 bucks, this is quality. Here are some reasons:1. You actually get a nicely printed user manual book, not just a sheet of paper with some babble on it. I did not read it word for word, but in browsing it, the English is actually good. Very professional manual for a cheap product.2. you get 3 name-brand Duracell AAA batteries with it. (Personally, I would NOT use those because alkaline batteries tend to leak quickly. I suggest using rechargeable AAA batteries). But to receive name-brand batteries is just hard to believe.3. The test probes are quite nice for this price point.4. The meter itself has every function that a home technician needs to be successful. DC to 1000V, AC to 750V, Frequency counter to 10MHz (which is very surprising, because many expensive meters cannot measure frequency up to 10MHz!), resistance to 40Mohms, capacitance to 40 millifarads (which is quite high, so dont confuse that with microfarads or picofarards). Also has a temp probe.5. even the box that it comes in does not look cheap.6. the rubber boot is removable. That said, IMO the boot looks nice but feels thin, I do not see it providing much protection.7. the battery door uses a machined screw, not a cheap "self-tapper" as Aussie Dave would say.8. auto-ranging.What is "cheap" about it IMO?1. the rubber boot is cheap and thin and not very soft. I cannot see the boot providing much protection, it is just too thin and not soft enough to provide impact protection. I am kind of surprised by this. I would have much preferred a higher quality boot instead of Duracell batteries. I have seen very cheap Chinese meters that had a very nice soft thick boot, so for this to be so nice in other ways but have a crappy boot, this surprises me. I'd rather have a nice thick soft boot but no batteries and no manual, if that would need to be the tradeoff to meet the price point.2. The NCV does not perform well IMO. See video. Actually, NCV is quite poor compared to other NCV that I have. You literally have to touch the wire to sense NCV. Not even touching the case of the power strip is close enough to sense voltage. Therefore, I would not rely AT ALL on the NCV function.3. mode switch feels somewhat cheap but at this price point, not bad. Certainly not Fluke-level that is for sure. I suppose good enough for the price.In summary, I am highly impressed with the build quality and performance for ten bucks. Recommended highly at the 10 price. If the price doubled, then I would have to re-evaluate the competition before recommending this.

Review for TESMEN TMM-569A Digital Multimeter:At my job, every site workbox needs a basic multimeter: they get abused, broken, lost, and I'm not inclined to spend too much. In the shop, I sometimes need more capabilities, including true RMS voltage reading. That's what lead me to the TESMEN: at the time of my purchase, in the price range of the cheap workbox meters, but with some pretty high-powered functions. From first unpacking, I was impressed with the care taken in the design of this meter-- definitely starting with a real manual (about 17 pages in English, with translations into several other languages.) Everything from the design of the kickstand, to changing the battery, the rear clips for the probes, the removable safety shrouds on the problems, tells me that it was designed by someone who cared about the actual function of the instrument. I'm not a big fan of auto-ranging meters: they take longer to adjust and provide a reading. I can live with that for the multitude of functions on this meter. The killer function for me: a phase checker for reading the orientation of 3-phase power. Working with portable power systems, we've struggled with a way to easily check this in the field, and this actually works!When I first spotted this meter, it was priced at $10: The price has increased each time I've gone back to look at it, and it's at $26 at the time of this review. It may keep going up until they reach their target price-- so if it still seems significantly underpriced, buy it now instead of thinking you might come back later to get it.

The TESMEN TMM-569A Digital Multimeter is of decent build quality. It is larger than a typical multimeter by about 20% in length and has also incorporated an analog display scale. The longer length is needed to meet the CAT III 1000V safety standard. At the same time, it can accommodate 2 current input jacks, namely 400mA and 10A. There are very few multimeters I have seen featuring 2 different current input jacks. This allows multiple fuses to be installed and better protects the meter when used incorrectly even at low current. It takes 3 AAA batteries which is great as I never liked 9V batteries. It is an auto-ranging multimeter without manual ranging which can make the meter respond slower at times.A few meter ranges have multiple functions and you will have to press the FUNC key to select the exact function you want. For example in the ohm-capacitance range, you will have to select either resistance or capacitance measurement manually by pressing the FUNC key. I like this approach since auto-selection can result in selection errors.Unfortunately, it comes with a pair of mediocre probes that marginally failed my “Morse-code” test in the beeping continuity test mode. Therefore, I had to switch to a better pair of probes for all the subsequent tests to have a fair evaluation of the multimeter.The DC voltage readings of my 1.5V and 3.3V batteries are consistent with the digital multimeters I have. Even a dead Lion battery with high output resistance had a correct reading. I am happy.Resistance tests were performed on my resistor test set of 8.2, 24, 200 ohms, 3.9, 24.1, 100, 680 kohms and 1.5 mega ohms. The measurements were all fairly accurate.Capacitance tests were performed on my capacitor test set of 10, 15, 22, 82, 470p, 1, 8.2, 47 and 100nF and the meter is quite accurate when the capacitance is 82p and above. Below that, there is a significant % of error but it is still within the ballpark of the marked value on the capacitor. This kind of performance is similar to a few multimeters I have tested. It is hard to get a repeatable measurement below 50pf in general for this kind of general purposes multimeter. So no big issue here.The NCV works fairly well and I like the protruding (sticking-out) sensor. I can get an alert right outside an electrical receptacle. Good job! Many don’t respond! However, like another TESMEN multimeter I have tested, they tend to be overly sensitive and respond to a 5V or a laptop charging cable. Nevertheless, I would rather they are more sensitive.The temperature probe is fairly accurate within 1-2F at 76F room temperature. This is the best I have seen but that could be just my sample because component variation plays a big part here. The diode function works well too in measuring its voltage drop.The frequency counter works accurately from 10Hz to 20kHz when I use my phone as an audio signal generator using an app with maximum phone volume. I am happy.The REL (relative) function works well too and it will help me measure a voltage or current relative to a fixed value. This effectively performs the subtraction for me.All in all, the TESMEN TMM-569A has been tested on many fronts to be an accurate multimeter with very few negatives despite its more bulky size required to meet the 1000V DC safety standard. It is a safe choice for those who prefer a larger and clearer screen with an analog scale.

A light weight multimeter that's is great for the price, it has accurate readings compared to my more expensive one and it also comes with a carry case, looks durable and a nice blue colour, many different modes to choose from.

Ich benötige das Multimeter für Hobbyzwecke, ohne professionellen Anspruch. Das Tesmen TMM-569A Digital Multimeter wird als Set vergleichsweise günstig angeboten, der Preis schwankt zur Zeit stark und wird sich vermutlich auf Höhe des sehr bauähnlichem Kaiweets KM401 einpegeln. Enthalten sind das Multimeter selbst, eine großzügig bemessene Tasche, Standard-Prüfkabel, eine Temperatursonde und die benötigten drei AAA-Batterien von Duracell. Dazu gibt es ein Anleitungsbüchlein mit verständlicher deutscher Übersetzung. Auf dem Gerät ist ein CE-Kennzeichen aufgedruckt.Das Multimeter ist aus stabilem Kunststoff gefertigt, drumherum ist ein blaues, abnehmbares Silikoncase, welches auf den Produktbildern und der Anleitung grün ist. Wasserdichtigkeit darf man in der Preisklasse nicht erwarten. Das Gerät ist intern mit F10A/250V und für die mA-Buchse mit F400mA/250V abgesichert. Wenn es nicht über den Bereichswahlschalter ausgeschaltet wird, deaktiviert es sich nach 10 Minuten Stillstand selbst. Es misst V mit Wechsel- und Gleichspannung, Hz, Dioden und Durchgang mit einem Pieps Signal, Ohm, die Kapazität von Kondensatoren, Temperatur mit einer Sonde, die Drehung der Phase an einem Drehstromanschluss, berührungslose Wechselspannungserkennung, spannungsführende Leitungen (NCV). Wechselspannung misst das Gerät mit TrueRMS.Was ist True RMS? Multimeter ohne True RMS richten die Wechselspannung gleich und messen den Gleichrichtwert x 1.1, um einen Effektivwert zu bekommen. Das funktioniert nur bei einem reinen Sinussignal. Gibt es da Abweichungen, wird die falsche Spannung angezeigt. True RMS-Geräte besitzen einen RMS-Chip und können Wechselspannung abseits eines reinen Sinus in Echtzeit anzeigen. Zu beachten ist die Bandbreits des RMS-Chip, die meist bei 1 KHz liegt. Bei Signalen, welche darüber liegen, wird es dann wieder ungenau. In meinen Hobby-Alltag hat das keine Relevanz, aber besser haben als brauchen.Die Anzeige ist ausreichend groß, mit gutem Kontrast und einigen Anzeigen und Rückmeldung der eingestellten Funktionen. Eine Graph-Anzeige verdeutlicht die digitale Ziffernanzeige, das Display ist auf Knopfdruck beleuchtet.Die Counts beschreiben die maximal darstellbaren Zahlen im Display. Grundsätzlich ist höher immer besser. Die Kommastelle wandert bei der Anzeige, ein Multimeter mit 2000 Counts zeigt dann 0,001 bis 199,9 im Display an, egal welcher Wert gemessen wird. Übersteigt der Messwert 199,9, wird kein Komma mehr angezeigt. Bei diesem Multimeter sind das 0,001 bis 3,999 Zahlen im Display, über 4V gibt es dann z.B. eine Kommastelle weniger. Der Wert ist immer dann relevant, wenn Nachkommastellen von Bedeutung sind. Mit der Messgenauigkeit hat der Wert nichts unmittelbar zu tun, sie ist beim Tesmen TM-569A in der Anleitung exakt definiert und liegt damit genauer als mein in die Jahre gekommenes Multimeter einer damals weit höheren Preisklasse. Erste Messungen bestätigen den Eindruck.Die Bedienung ist intuitiv, wer schon mal mit einem Multimeter gearbeitet hat, findet sich auf Anhieb zu Recht. Die Bereichsauswahl erfolgt automatisch, innerhalb der Bereiche wird mit der FUNC-Taste weitergeschaltet, wer z.B. Leitungen in der Wand sucht und auf NCV dreht, muss dann mit dem FUNC-Taster die LIVE-Funktion anwählen. Es gibt eine Hold-Funktion zum Einfrieren von Daten und als Goodie eine zuschaltbare Leuchte.Bei den Messungen ist mir aufgefallen, dass die Durchgangsmessungen etwas träge sind, beim Durchpiepsen einer Platine kann das nerven. Die beigelegten Messkabel sind ok, ich habe da meinen speziellen Satz, damit geht die Durchgangsmessung etwas flotter. Gefehlt haben mir Aufsetzer für das Messen in kindergeschützten Schukosteckdosen, ich nehme da meine Bananenstecker, es liegt aber nichts bei.Fazit: egal wie der Preis beim Tesmen TMM-569A momentan schwankt, der Funktionsumfang ist immer umwerfend. Für den Hobbyanwender wie mich erfüllt das Gerät alle Erwartungen, ein ganz, ganz dicke Kaufempfehlung!
