Our ceramic picture tiles are fired at a very high temperature creating permanent images that will never fade. The manufacturer has developed a method of production where there are very few cracking or hazing on the surface. If the artist name is stated, the tiles are hand painted reproductions of their work. The back is unglazed and covered with a thin layer of felt. My only worry would be it could crack in the frost however if you were to be adhering to a wall and grouting it in then it would minimise the risks a bit.
