Mill Creek Aloe Vera Shampoo (Natural & Organic) - 14 fl. oz.

I worked at a salon that carried many Millcreek Botanicals products. I have never heard of this brand before, nor ever saw in store anywhere, pro-only or 'regular' store. I liked the products well enough that I decided to start using/selling when I became independent. I normally buy from the website directly, but in a pinch (hated doing honestly) came here to purchase for faster delivery. The bottle is smaller than it used to be, (they just changed the bottles...even when ordering on brand website, they are now smaller. But didn't know til I ordered from here, first.) But the product seems to be the same. To me, it smells almost powder-y... if you know what I mean. And I am one to not like power scents... but its not like, an overpowering or unpleasant scent. But there is a scent. (I have a client that insists the shampoo and conditioner smell different. But to me and everyone else, it is the same. Maybe very slight difference, but its a different product and different consistency, so with less chemicals, its going to be different than other brands that smell exactly the same. She doesn't understand this.) This is a sulfate free shampoo, which is great. And although some brands do better about the lathering, this one is different. (Again-less chemicals) Use the same amount of shampoo that you would normally use. Add more water if you feel you need more shampoo or more of a lather. Also, you need to emulsify it in your hands first before putting on head. That will make a difference in the lathering. Although this is a good product for dry or itchy scalp, I recommend their Dandruff shampoo paired with the aloe vera conditioner for best results for those scalp issues. This is a very gentle and mild formula. And lightweight. Does not weigh hair down. Good for every day use.

I have a thyroid disease, so good hair products are very important to me. If you didn't know, thyroid disease, like Hashimoto's disease can cause extreme hair loss. Needless to say, at 25 years old, I became a victim of rapid hair loss. I am too young to have this thin of hair. Rewind 4 years and my hair is falling out by the handfulls. I am having nightmares about going bald because thats how dramatic the hair loss is. I try everything, hippy soaps (castille, no additives, etc), psoriasis soaps, anti fungal soaps, anti dandruff soaps, and even the no-poo method. Nothing - no change. My hair was brittle, dry, and falling out. It felt terrible, I was constantly itching and these thick sebum plugs were falling out of my scalp. It was hell. One day, while in the bath, I didn't want to get out of the bath to grab the shampoo bottle so I used some feminine hygiene wash on my hair. It was PH Balanced with Aloe. The itching stopped - completely stopped. It was the most relieving sensations I’d felt on my scalp in a very long time. Then when I got out of the shower, it began curling at the ends. When I dried it, it was shiny, soft, and itch-free. Thats when I started researching PH balancing products and the effects of Aloe on the scalp, which eventually lead me to this product. I guess there are a couple questions I need to answer here: Did it make my hair stop falling out? Absolutely not Did it make my scalp itch less? Scalp itching is down by 80% Did it make my hair super shiny and soft? Yes This shampoo can be used every day without drying the hair, it makes your hair soft and shiny, and doesn’t leave any residue behind. I have a lot of new baby hairs growing in and doing pretty well (a few don’t make it), and when I dry it, the ends curl up a bit. I never knew my hair had a bit of curl to it until I started using this product. I don't know if I will even be able to solve the mystery of my hair loss, the disease is winning this battle; but for the time being, this shampoo has made my hair very comfortable.

I’ll preface by saying I’m not super picky with shampoo (moreso conditioner and leave-in products), so scent and ability to leave my hair feeling clean are my top concerns - this delivers on both. If you’re looking for a shampoo that gives you a lot of “lather”, this won’t - it’s sulfate free, but it still cleans. Only reason it’s not an absolute fav is it doesn’t feel too moisturizing for the Scalp. Maybe b/c argan oil is lower in the ingredients, and keratin is last? Either way, a very good gentle cleanser in my opinion, but everyone’s mileage may vary :)

I love the scent of this aloe vera shampoo, I definitely feel and notice a difference when using it in my hair, and anytime I’ve used it. I’ve always felt really refreshed. The best way I would describe the fragrance is close to the scent of cucumber. The one thing I do wish is that it wasn’t as much compared to that of native, but I wanted to try this out to see what other alternatives there are out there. I did notice upon opening it up from its packaging that it did leak out a little bit, but thankfully not a whole lot either. other than that, it is a great product. Highly recommend.

This is lovely soothing shampoo with a mild scent that my husband and I use all the time

Why did you pick this product vs others?: This shampoo makes my scalp feel a lot more calm. I love it. It doesn’t smell amazing—just smells like soap. However it’s worth it for how it makes my scalp feel.
