Made in China. I wouldn't let that be a deciding factor though. Kershaw has plenty of excellent China made knives. If you want USA made knives you're usually going to pay for it. I think the most "China" part of this knife is the scales. Otherwises the build quality is great.

Does the bottle opener work well?

Idk what all these other people are saying but the bottle opener works flawlessly the first time and ice opened alot of beers lol

Does this have the assisted opening?

It's not assisted opening. However out of the box, it is a knife you can operate with one hand. Once you get a feel for it, when you push the blade past the friction that keeps is closed it will open with the flick of the wrist.
