Buy Italian Card Games for All Ages: How to play Briscola, Scopa and many other traditional Italian card games by Long Bridge Publishing (ISBN: 9781938712005) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: This is a fabulous book! - To add to my rather laconic previous review, this is a fabulous book. It reminds us of what we used to know, clarifies the rules (not least the primiere in Scopa), and brings to life all the accumulated social history which lies within the playing of these cards. Everything is clear and direct. I recommend it wholeheartedly, and don't understand how anyone can award fewer than five stars Review: Good compendium of games, some details a bit confusing - Great book to accompany cards and introduced us to new games. Have played Scopa and Briscola so far. Needed to double check a few rules on the Internet as we weren't really sure how to interpret them from the book's description. A few videos helped to clear up the rules. Useful small reference book and accompanies the cards when we go out to play in the pub.

Confusing
I tried to learn Scopa, but found the explanation not clear. I showed the book to an Italian friend who plays Scopa well and understands it. She even said it was not clear. When she showed me how to play it I could see where the book lacked in its explanation.

He was pleased and said that he recognised some of the games ...
I bought this as a gift for an Italian relative who had just bought himself a traditional deck of cards from Rome. He was pleased and said that he recognised some of the games from his childhood, whilst others were unfamiliar. It seems like a useful resource for people wanting to learn or be reminded of traditional Italian card games.

It is hard to understand card games from books in general. More examples would be helpful. Must find an Italian friend to play with me.

This book seems to be translated from Italian not very well. If I had not read other directions for Scopa first I would not understand the game. I only read the Scopa directions.
