The inner short is 4 inches and the outer short is about 3.5 inches.

5’3” and 155lbs. Do I need a M or a L?

I am 5’3” 128 lbs and I bought both a Small and Medium. We he medium for you would probably be best. I don’t think you need a large. They are pretty stretchy too. Very comfy!
