✨ Light Up Your Playtime! ✨
The Flash & Glow Ball Jr. is a 2-inch diameter motion-activated LED ball that flashes for 25 seconds and glows in the dark. Made from durable, non-toxic materials, it is waterproof, easy to clean, and designed for safe play. Perfect for both indoor and outdoor fun!

Pretty good, not perfect
I got the Flash & Glow to replace a missing NiteIze ball, as the Flash and Glow is a bit cheaper. The Flash & Glow is a hard plastic shell around some slightly rattling innards. I couldn't get it to turn on by simply by shaking it. I had to throw it down; then it lit up with a bright and frenetic blinking. The blinking seems to last for varying amounts of time. Once or twice it didn't last long enough for the dog to get to the ball; other times it lasted for what seemed like a full minute. The dog though the ball was ok, and he was happy to play fetch with it. However, when he had the option to select his own ball, his first choice was a Kong tennis ball (squeaky,) and his second choice was the NiteIze (not squeaky, but the heavy soft plastic is fun to roll around in his mouth.) The Flash & Glow was his third choice, as it is neither squeaky nor pliable.I would like the toy better if the flashing lasted a little longer. I like to mentally challenge my dog by tossing the ball where the dog has to work a little to retrieve it: behind a bush, over a wall, under a deck, etc. Of course, sometimes the dog misses the fact that the ball landed behind the wall, not in front, and I have to go get the ball myself. The flashing doesn't last long enough for me to find the ball in the dark after the dog has lost it. However, the flashing certainly lasts long enough if you are just tossing the ball in a straight line into an open field.A good point about the toy is that there is no on/off switch. You can't run the battery down by forgetting to turn the switch off. Nor does the switch become an opening to let water in.As far as I can tell, the battery isn't replaceable. I don't know how long the battery lasts, as I haven't had the ball long enough to kill the battery yet.

Helpful for Dogs Learning Fetch -- Flashing light attracts them to play! (lasted about 5 months)
We adopted a rescue who was from a puppy mill and never even knew what a leash/collar was until the rescue started domesticating her. Needless to say, she did not know what fetch was, among other socialization issues. We were very pleased with her reaction to Flash & Glow, because the blinking light really stimulated her and attracted her to the ball. She wanted it really badly, and began to make more effort to play fetch with our other dog (who had healthy socialization). She is still learning the game, but even in daylight, this ball's glow can be seen, and it is a real stimulant for both of our dogs to start playing and get out some energy.UPDATE: 1/14/16 We originally purchased this ball on 8/3/15, so it has been just over 5 months of use. The ball is now petering out and seldom flashes anymore. We did use the ball for maybe about every other day, for about 30 minutes, in those 5 months, so you can be the judge of how much use you think that is for the cost. We do wish it had lasted longer and are disappointed it didn't give more flashing for the money, however, its effect on our dogs is worth it to us to replace it, and we have bought another one.

If you have a dog that plays or retrieves SOLID plastic balls then I would diffidently recommend this ball
It does glow as described for the described amount of time and my dog will chase it but won't pick it up as to its hard plastic material. She is a large Irish Setter and loves fetch but I am the one fetching this thing! If you have a dog that plays or retrieves SOLID plastic balls then I would diffidently recommend this ball, I would of gave it five stars if my Setter would of allowed it! LOL It would be a blast in the dark playing fetch in the snow as it is easy to find while it is flashing, even under a few inches of snow!

Durable and affordable
The ball lights up when it's jostled. I like the fact that, unlike other light-up dog toys, this one does not use a switch or any other mechanism to turn it on. I've seen ones where you have to twist the ball to turn it on shatter upon impact. It's very durable and, after a month of use, is problem free. My only caveat is that the ball is made of a hard plastic that doesn't give like a tennis ball or rubber ball. I wish that it bounced a bit more. Overall though, I think it's the best light-up ball out there.

Hard as a ROCK!
Interesting how the rating options for this review are "Durability", "Thickness", and "Sturdiness". I gave 5's for each as this is a virtually indestructible ball, and it does light up nice. However, your dog may lose some teeth on this one... so be careful if you have a fetch crazed dog like I do. This is more like playing fetch with a bocce ball (slight exaggeration). Probably good for real big dogs that are rough n tough. I have a lab, and I decided to get a little softer ball.

Would buy 2 more if they were smaller (12lb MaltiPoo)
Very durable. My dog MaltiPoo 12lb 1.5 years old is a chewer and destroyer of all things plastic yet she has not made a dent with this after two days unsupervised (I leave it in her playpen while I am gone).I purchased this with winter coming and that means it gets dark before I even get home and this is great because she can track it.HOWEVER, I have not had too much success with glowing. The ability to glow is not charged by the LED inside, and I am just not patient or thoughtful enough to let it "charge" before we go out. My puppy has a knack of playing keep away with the ball, and this lasts longer than the 25 seconds the LED remains flashing and it is not activated by her having it in her mouth -- maybe a bigger dog will activate it with a head shake or dropping it but she sets it down and then I have to hunt for it.It is a standard size ball which is a little large for the MaltiPoo and while she can run with it, it is also not the easiest for her to hold. We will buy several as soon as I can find a smaller size!

Our Dogs love flashing balls
This ball was a favorite of our 3 Golden Retrievers years ago. Zoey has always been very picky on what she will play with but a flashing ball is one of them. We haven't had any for a while so I bought 2 to play ball in the basement when it's too cold & snowy to go outside. They both love them. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because 1 did stop flashing the first night. I decided to return it and they replaced the balls right away. Praying the 2 keep flashing a long time. We only use them with supervised play as they will chew them up.Beware the price is for one ball now. It was always for two and when I ordered and only received one I wasn't happy. $15 for a ball is a lot.
