Just what I needed
Like in most homes, we have an electronic wireless thermostat, but the pain of having to get up, adjust and then for the central heating to turn on, and then remembering to turn back off has always been a pain.Due to energy costs rising, we don't normally have it programmed to turn on and off on a daily basis, however been meaning to find an alternative to manage this by another means, apart from a hard switch. So this smart switch has just been wired in, in parallel to the current thermostat. I can now control when the boiler will turn on and off from my mobile as well as can set timers in the app so I can have it turned off after a certain time, so as to not have it running all day. We can still use the current thermostat when it gets really cold, or if we're not at home for a few days, but the main beauty of this, is the ability to turn it on 20 mins before I come home from work and have the home nice and toasty. This has the 40 amps current rating, not that the current setup needs this, but can be used for immersion heaters too where you'd have a tank in the loft.
