Outback Excel Onyx 2-Burner Gas Trolley BBQ with Side Burner

This is a perfect little BBQ at a decent price. It's not that complicated to build if you follow the instructions properly. I replaced a similar BBQ I had for years. The new one is as good, if not better, than the old one. I like the external thermometer and the black mat finish. I got rid of the metal burner protector and replaced it with a grill with lava rocks. Perfect !!

Took 4 hours to assemble! Instructions are rubbish but managed anyway! Excellent bit of kit once assembled! Works great! Love the recessed area that takes the gas bottle!! Neat as!! Works as an oven, roasting a chicken when the lid is closed! Real efficient! Excellent buy!

We bought this to replace a larger BBQ that had reached the end of its life. We wanted a smaller more sturdy one. This fits the bill. Assembly took quite some time- hubby and I had a difference of opinion - but all good, BBQ assembled!

Very disappointed with the quality really flimsy, especially the shell and burners. The BBQ looks good & instructions are easy to follow, nuts, bolts, & screws nicely identified... Pity that the materials are so flimsy.... ( TG )

I’m really happy with this. The build instructions are clear and it took a couple of hours - you could probably do it quicker if you’ve built a barbecue before. The only tricky part of construction was slotting the legs into the base - it’s a tight fit and the manual recommends using a rubber hammer to ‘ease’ the legs in. You can be up and running in no time on the grill, it heats up nicely with the lid down and the lava rocks simulate coals nicely. Take care with the side burner, as pans will balance on a shiny surface and there’s nothing to help them grip. Having said that, I managed to cook vegetables on a griddle pan well. For the price, this is a nice little barbecue and you can cook for six people easily without having to take food off the grill and keep it warm. I haven’t tried to cook pizza or a whole chicken in it yet but initial results with smaller food is very promising. EDIT: Having now cooked a whole chicken beer-can style using this barbecue I can confirm it’s well worth the money. The dual burners allow you to maintain the regular temperature that you need with the lid down.

This is our third barbecue of this make over the years and husband would not buy anything different. Lots of cooking room and easy to use. He even likes the new black colour. Oh,you do need patience to assemble it.
