But you can get inexpensive test strips to check the chlorine and chloramines from Bulk Reef Supply (and good advice). Also you can get a meter like $50.00. Look on their site for advice and products if raising fish. If doing plants like orchids you need an RO system that gets rid of chlorine, chloramines, special fluoride filter, and that removes all minerals. I would assume fish need the same but I haven’t raised any for decades. Your best bet for outside is to go to somewhere like First Rays and buy a Greenhouse RO system for like $275 He has a straight chlorine, chloramines On demand system for $150 connects to your outdoor spigot (9000 gallons throughput). I will say, you need to make sure your water pressure isn’t too high for any filter system. Many you need a pressure regulator 1) your incoming pressure is too high, and 2) if you run the water through fast, besides leaks etc it needs time to filter properly. I have never seen a residential to work over 35-40 PSI. And it probably needs to be lower— just have to check the mfg. **Q: Is this filter safe to use for filling Koi ponds? (My water supply is 1 ppm free chlorine + 1 ppm chloramine, also heavy metal removal)** A: False: “koi can live in just about any water as long as you have some kind of water feature to oxygenated the water”. You typically need to reduce chlorine and chloramine by more than 90% from tap water before exposing koi to it. They’re robust/hearty fish in general but chlorine/chloramine to them is like inhaling bleach fumes to humans. It hurts. **Q: Why does this company take so long to ship?
