I was looking for an apron to wear in my workshop where I do a lot of grinding and metal fabrication. I had a Mechanix Wear one that I wore out. It was also a little too short. The NY Sky apron I received is a heavy-duty canvas. The stitching is good and the seam ends are well finished. I don't use all the pockets, but there are a lot and they are well placed. The description says "split-leg". I don't know what that means because the apron has a solid front that extends down to just past my knees (I'm 6 feet tall)- perfect length for me. I would prefer a leg split, but it is functioning fine so far. My one disappointment is the straps, and it is my fault. My apron came with straps that crossed in the back and wrapped around to the front. Not a good set-up for the shop. But the apron packaging described several different strap options that can be had! Good job NY Sky! I sewed the straps from my old apron onto the new one and I have been using it for about a week now with no issues.

I wanted to wait a while before I reviewed this, so I could really speak to whether it worked or not, rather than just being excited to have a new package in my mailbox and it looking cool. I like the toughness of the material and the general design, including the strap length and routing. This is the kind of quality I've only seen previously done well by companies like Filson's. It fits and stays out if the way while protecting me from oil and grease. The number and variety of pockets really work well for wrenches as well as small tools that might normally get laid down and lost (recently used socket, I'm looking at you). My one concern might be the durability of the straps, but that hasn't been a problem yet and honestly who knows if it will. If somehow this came up missing I'd have no problem picking up another one to replace it.

I just received my Apron and I am completely impressed with the sturdiness high quality and attention to detail. I have not had a chance to use it yet but I am 100% sure that it is going to fill my needs around the shop. I have another apron that I’ v been wearing and I attempted to purchase another of the same but it’s been discontinued. This apron that just arrived today I can tell you is just on another level, I highly recommend this apron. I have no doubt I will be using this for years!

Received my apron two weeks ago wanted to try it out before I wrote a review, I build custom cabinets and having the apron I don't have to make trips for tool pencils and so on my apron can hold most of what I need I love it and would recommend it to anyone price isn't bad for the quality that the apron is!

My son is a chef and LOVES these aprons. The X back straps prevent neck and shoulder pull. The coated canvas protects clothing as well as helps when standing in front of the grill or when he is on the sauté line. The pockets are spacious and plentiful. They clean up well. He requests these as gifts from family and now has them in a variety of colors.

Excellent quality! Plenty of well placed pockets. Seems to be breaking in quickly. I expect to have this apron for years to come!

This is a nice apron, sturdy and feels good quality. I'm a big guy (6'3" and rather overweight) and had no problem adjusting it to fit comfortably. I feel the straps webbing could be a little wider (they are 25mm I wide) but I'm sure they will be fine. I have ordered a quick release buckle for the straps as I prefer not tying them. I only have given 4 stars however as I ordered from the description which states split leg, and the supplied apron is not. I will try it for a while rather than send it back although I will likely reorder to get split leg at some point - I will stick with the brand though as it seems very good quality.

Very good and does the job for the greenhouse. Slightly awkward to put on but lovely and secure when you tie it up. Be careful though, the apron is oiled and has left greasy marks on my emulsioned wall.

Very happy with the product overall, fit and quality seems great and once we had beat it with a rolling pin whilst it was wet, it did unstiffen. Only issue, like all waxed canvas is the cleaning aspect, my husband being a chef needs to be able to wash his apron and so we don't envisage the wax lasting long but that is for all waxed canvas aprons.

I am using it whilst putting a motorcycle back together. I can sit on my stool and it covers my knees. it is handy to put my tools in the pocket. All in all it is a well constructed apron.

What a great product! It fits really nicely once adjusted. The material feels really sturdy and the stitching is robust. The pockets are roomy despite the fabrics being stiff. Really handsomely designed. Functional but not totally utilitarian, the brass and leather details make it feel more expensive than it was. Putting it on instantly makes me feel motivated to create. Great job “under NY sky”!
