Good deal, good starter kit for fountain pen
I had the fountain pen and wanted to order a refill but it came in surprisingly with another pen! This is entry level fountain pen but it writes well and feels well.

Can’t beat the price
Is it as sturdy as a higher priced pen? No. But you can’t beat the price for the quality. Mine eventually cracked after taking a nasty crush, but it didn’t leak or shatter. I will definitely order more. If another breaks or is lost, it’s not as painful as breaking or losing a $20+ pen.

Awesome
Quality really good. Weight is light and is easy for my arthritic joints. It writes fairly smooth does at times seem to run out of ink but just give it a light shake or wiggle and it’s back on track. The quality of this pen for an extremely low price is truly awesome. Way better then the expensive one I bought when I got this one. I really enjoy this pen

Great Pen with poor ink
Platinum Preppies are known to be good little pens for the price. This pen lives up to that sentiment. The pen writes smoothly with a very fine tip. The nib has a slight amount of bounce, and I love the snap cap. Unfortunately the ink I got seems to be a bit too thick. It didn't flow well through the pen, and clogged every couple of days. I ended up diluting the ink twice before the clogging stopped. If you buy this pen I highly recommend buying a compatible converter and using bottled in.

Good for the price
This cheap fountain pen from japan is hard to get started, but once its writing, it is very smooth and I haven't had any issues. I would definitely recommend them. ( after buying this one I bought a pack of colored ones to replace my ballpoint pens and I am very happy with them)

Great pen
This is a great fountain pen for beginners and more experienced fountain pen users.

Garbage
Worst pen I ever owned. Sure it's cheap, but it's worth zero. It had very poor ink flow and stopped working altogether after a few days. I cleaned the nib and replaced the cartridge and it was still dead.

In so many ways, light...
I am reviewing a Platinum Preppy 03 Fountain Pen, blue. All plastic construction (except stainless steel nib, natch), blue-tinged polystyrene, I believe. Lightweight (13 g with cartridge), excellent proportions (albeit a bit short for my hand), and somewhat slippery to the touch. Writing is generally enjoyable, with a bit of scratch on low-quality paper. The line is extremely fine (remember, 03 nib) and a bit on the lighter side with their supplied Platinum blue-black ink. Think more of a technical pen than one for poetry; I envision it for notes, not emotive writing.[Four-month update] A major problem with the Preppy - it is quite fragile. The plastic they use for its construction (polystyrene?) is rather thin and prone to crack if any force is applied. This problem has been described before for its cap, but it can also happen with the barrel, especially when changing cartridges. I have dropped my review one star because of this intrinsic weakness. One remedy - the Preppy parts are interchangeable with the Platinum Plaisir, a metal-cased pen. So, you can recover any Preppy parts by using them in a Plaisir. Bottom line - if you are as careless as I am, you may want to consider the Plaisir instead of the Preppy. Almost as light, writes the same, but the Plaisir will be around in four months, while the Preppy may not.

Best starter pen
The best ever fountain pen. I own a 250CAD Sailor pro fountain pen, and I prefer writing with this.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!
