Bilstein (24-011402) 46mm Monotube Shock Absorber

Really good product. My 88 4Runner is noticeably smoother. Install wise, it was simple other then removing the original shock absorbers. Rather rusted/crusted onto the vehicle considering they’ve probably been on vehicle since 1988!

This is not a review of the product so much as a review of the condition the product was in when I received it. The product itself was incredibly well manufactured and engineered.I received these shocks about a month ago off an order that I placed about 3 months ago... which was as expected, and fine since I knew i wouldn't have time to install these on my truck for a while. They arrived in two brown amazon boxes, and since, at the time of arrival I still did not have any time to install them they sat, unopened for about 30 days. When I finally found the time to install them I opened the brown boxes to inspect what I had received.Inside each box was a factory box from bilstein that contained the individual shock absorbers. The first box was factory sealed, and seemed fine. The second box had clearly been mishandled and I had a hunch they were re-boxed and returned once before. Upon opening of said box i found that the shock absorber inside looked to be in good condition... it was... and then the trouble started. This shock was missing parts that the undamaged box contained (and after confirming with auto-zone, parts that this shock should have contained as well), namely: bushings and washers. Irritating since it's turned out to be somewhat difficult to obtain said bushings. but the fun doesn't stop there. Upon closer inspection of the parts it's clear to see that the damaged box included the wrong shock absorber! it's cosmetically identical to the one i ordered, but it's clear as day that the product codes are different (the one i ordered: 24-011402, the one i received: 24-011401).I'm now past my return period, so that part is my bad, but this is unacceptable qc on the part of amazon.

I debated for a while on what shocks I should buy for my 94 Toyota Pickup, and I decided to go for the Bilstein shocks, and I am SO happy I did. There are lots of alternatives for shocks, and most are cheaper, but the amount you save is not worth getting poor quality parts. Buy the right and best parts first, you won't have to do it again.Bilstein makes some of the best shocks in the world, and brought a whole new life to my Yota. It feels brand new again!

These Bilstein shocks were to replace some worn out Rancho shocks on the rear of my 1988 4-Runner. When new, the Rancho shocks were rough/stiff. I already had Bilsteins on the front and those were still going strong. Rear Bilsteins were not available last time I replaced my shocks. This time I went with the Bilstein shocks on the rear and am glad I did. Such an improvement in the ride both on road and off. I've read elsewhere that the Bilstein shocks last longer. It is true.

Easy install and ride is a lot better

A little more expensive, but worth it. You can't go wrong.
