The nasty comments are probably from competitors wanting to trash a great company....One tip I have learned when soaking your sea moss is to add the juice of real lemon to the water.
Review: So far so good - My son has been telling me about Irish Sea Moss for months, finally he sent me a video showing me how to turn the actual moss into gel. I looked around on desertcart, and somehow I decided to purchase Karibbean Flavour’s product. I didn’t really know what to expect after reading the negative reviews, but I took a chance. After receiving my purchase I couldn’t wait to use it. So I rewatched the video and did exactly what the young lady in the video did to prepare my sea moss for blending, I let it soak in the refrigerator in water and lime juice for 24 hours. I kept watching it and it began to expand. Once my soaking time was complete, I poured off the water, put it in my Vitamix and added alkaline water. It blended up very nicely, and I got a smooth gel. 3 ounces blended up into 16 ounces of gel for me. I tasted it and it was bland, I could taste faint hints of lime, which I didn’t mind. I was also able to remove literally 99.999% of it from my blender— which was a first. Today I used 2Tbs in my smoothie. I could not taste it, but I can say my smoothie was “smoother”. I noticed a difference in hands and fingers they felt better, I am not sure if it was real or psychosomatic😳. But thus far I have not been disappointed, it’s only day one. I am positively hoping for wonderful results from using this. I will amend my review as time goes on. Ok, it’s been about 2 weeks now, I just made my second batch today. I added just a tad more alkaline water to my blender and wow! I got another nice thick batch of sea moss, but about 22 oz this time. I didn’t scrape the blender clean this time because I was about to make my smoothie. It was again smooth. So initially I wondered if what I was feeling in my hands and fingers was psychopathic— it is not. I’ve used the sea moss daily but missed 2 days and I felt a difference in my hands, fingers, and in particular, my left thumb. My thumb was stiff and my fingers felt puffy. I have been sewing a lot, and when I do hand stitching I noticed my fingers were not as agile. I am still sticking with my 5 star review. I think this is an excellent brand of sea moss. I have absolutely no complaints. I would definitely buy this again. There is one thought I’d like to throw in here before I go... I read that we should allow our sea moss gel to “breathe” and so we should not put a closed lid on the jar, I doubled 2 sheets of paper towel and a rubber band to keep my jar covered the in the fridge. It seemed like it evaporated quickly— I am wondering about this. So this time around I am just going to keep it tightly covered with the lid to the jar and see if it makes a difference. If it does or doesn’t I will make one last amendment to my review if this product. And let me just reiterate, I’m loving this, would recommend it, and am sticking with 5 stars👍🏽👍🏽

**Q: Is this usda certified organic**
A: The manufacturing company of the brand (Karibbean Flavours) is U.S. F.D.A certified. This recertification procedure was carried out in March 2019 where the company met all required compliance details after a thorough inspection by USFDA officials. However the source of the sea moss does not fall under the purview or jurisdiction of USDA or USFDA for organic certification. However, the sea moss is organic. There is no chemical or pesticide used in the growing, drying or packaging stages of this sea moss. It is grown in clean, open sea, coastal, intertidal areas. It is all natural. So, yes it is organic, but not by the USDA. Karibbean Flavours follows all the strict guidelines laid down by the U.S.F.D.A. and has physically done site visits to our suppliers; been out on the boats with the crews to observe best practices being followed in the collection of the sea moss; toured the on-shore facilities where the sea moss is dried and stored after drying. You can buy with confidence.

**Q: Is this sea moss bleached?**
A: My research has revealed information that Irish Sea Moss is most often red-purple to light brown in color when sun bleached.  I have only seen the words "sun bleached".

**Q: A Health Food store owner told me it's mostly people of color asking for this but what exactly is it good for/used for?**

**Q: Is there a way to know the fake from the real sea moss, I'm hesitant after watching a video?**
A: Hi Kirk, thanks for the question. There is a lot of misinformation floating around on the internet titled "fake vs real" primarily from people who don't know what they are talking about (the most dangerous kind). Here's what you need to know. On Amazon there are three (3) different species of sea moss for sale. They all fall under the generic term Irish Moss or Sea Moss. But they are species variations. One is a Northern Temperate cold water species called Chondrus Crispus that is harvested in the summer. C. Crispus has a more leafy flattened look when dry. The other two are Gracilaria and Eucheuma Cottonii. These two are very similar looking with a "tangled" texture of growth. These are warm water tropical species that grow year round and faster. All three species are full of really good nutrients: Vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Some slightly more that the other. ALL are very good for you. Appearances will vary slightly from from one to the other, with some being a bit redder than the other depending on where they grew and how well they were dehydrated. There are some so-called gurus who will say one species is better than the rest (with little scientific support). They are ALL good for you. No one is bleaching this stuff. (Good way to go out of business fast). It is being dried in the sun (or in some cases, some suppliers will use drying ovens) and salted, Which is really to dehydrate the sea moss so that it doesn't rot in its packaging. Who wants that? The problem of "Fake vs real" has also been compounded by some sellers not knowing what species they are selling and mislabeling them with a wrong species. Another problem is when buyers don't follow package instructions and get varied results. If you use too little water when boiling, the gel will be more rubbery and if you use too much water it will be more drippy wet gel. Then these folks go on the internet and complain like an expert that this one is not real. Our species is E.Cottonii.Follow the package instructions for an optimal result. It is highly regarded. Look it up. I'm not allowed to place links here. It's great for your body.  Grown in open sea coastal inlets in lovely clean sea water. I have photos from a recent site visit. You can buy with confidence. This is the good stuff. :)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ This maybe pool grown sea moss

I haven't used this product yet. I just washed it to remove any sand and extra salt. So what I thought immediately is that this must be pool grown because it smell like I swimming in the pool or at the gym's pool area. The second thing I didn't like is that they never tell you where they actually got there sea moss nor can you find on their website. They only show you water of place where they say the place is hidden around or near but you don't see what their sea moss look like. I'm not giving this a negative review because I do know that there isn't fake sea moss. There wild caught, farm raised and what people seem to get is pool grown. There are 5 different ocean so unless you have visited all of them and seen all the different types of sea moss around the world, know one can say it's fake but instead it's not what you are use to from your home or wherever you use to get your. Basically, I do expect some difference and similarities. That being said it could be a good product. Plus I already bought it so I will use it. Also, it's better than any pharmaceutical and I will still benefit from it's properties. I still want to try the real wild caught sea moss, but this will do too. I would rather have this than take questionable multivitamins and Minerals.
