NOW Foods Sports Dextrose Powder - 10 lbs

A must for recovery drinks. Dextrose breaks down in the body very fast. Great for giving your body an insulin spike after a workout. I add protein and NOW foods Carbo Gain powder for my post workout recovery drink along with some creatine powder and sugar free drink mix for taste. Cheap and effective when you buy in bulk.

I would not normally buy this product, but my doctor put me on the elemental diet, and this is one of the required ingredients. I do like that it is non GMO, however I normally do not eat corn, and this is derived from corn, which I did not know until I received the product. I will still use it, though, as it is not an allergy but a preference as to why I don't eat corn.

I thought I was purchasing maltodextrose, AKA CarboPro. This stuff is just plain dextrose, basically powdered sugar, it is nauseatingly sweet to me, I cannot drink it without gagging.If you are looking for sugar water, then this product will work. I was looking for complex carbohydrates without heavy sweetness, but this is VERY sweet.

I have a problem digesting fructose and this sugar is the best for me, I have been using now foods dextrose for years and haven't had any problems with them. The price of $17.99 for my order was the best I could find.

I generally like NOW products so this comes as a surprise. Due to my autoimmune condition, I have a high sensitivity to contaminants & toxins(ex - heavy metals). I was initially was surprised when I noticed that the product is imported from China unlike many other NOW products. But I decided to give it a try due to the brand name and boy was it a mistake. My symptoms flare every time I use this product. After stopping to use this product for a few weeks, my symptoms are under control. The product should be clearly labeled concerning where it is made/produced. I try not to take any imported herbs/supplements unless they are USDA certified organic.

Dose what it does, can't really say anything beyond that - it's pure sugar. Mixes easily, I don't notice any type of chalky taste, perhaps I'm just used to drinking powders. Good size, price. Best used post-workout and on those days you want to carb up but can't fit in a lot of food.

100% pure D-Glucose (AKA Dextrose) powder.There is another product on amazon that looks like a cheaper D-Glucose product, it is deceptive however. The shipping on that one is insane, and you end up paying about a dollar or two less than this. As this has a solid plastic container I can say it was definitely worth the extra dollar. :)

I bought this dextrose to replace all of the table sugar in my house. I am cutting fructose from my diet little by little, table sugar (sucrose) is 1 glucose and 1 fructose molecule combined together. Dextrose (glucose) is not as sweet as table sugar so you need to add a little more. Dextrose is also more powdery and less of a granual than table sugar but it dissolves the same if not better.
