Is there a lot of feedback for the pen? I have recently

I have not used the fountain pen, however, Cross stands behind their products. My set has lasted me a lifetime. (that would be 50 years since I graduated from high school) I recently purchased a Cross pen for my granddaughter to take to the University of Kansas. She is a writer.

Does golden parts discolor/fade over time?

I purchased the silver/chrome pen. However, I've had their gold pens for a long time and they have not discolored.
