Dope as hell

I've been wanting to get my hands on a bleach statue or figure and for the price I think this is a good start. Accessories are okay two fist hands, two grip hands,the big sword I also like the fact that his outfit is cloth. The quality is not bad for the price it's not a high-end figure but it's good enough. the durability is good enough for play if you buy this for a kid that's like 10 years of age.

This figure looks really good. That's to be expected though since McFarlane Toys would rather be making statues instead of action figures. This Ichigo here is so much better than the Anime Stars figure made by Bandai of America. What a waste of plastic that was. The line was DOA as a result. Articulation is mostly good too but this would be where the problems with this figure are egregiously obvious. This look for Ichigo didn't last long so it's weird they started with this one but since this is specifically for the Thousand Year Blood War, I guess it makes sense. This is the look he had when the new season started. It's also the look that he had during the last fight with Kugo Ginjo in the previous season. It's the integrated "Soul Reaper" and Fullbring "Shikai" design. They nailed the look. Instead of making the Shihakusho out of plastic like Bandai did, it's entirely softs goods. Which look really good. The material used looks and feels quality. It all fits well and drapes fine. The articulation is mostly good. It does exactly what you'd expect it all to do with no limitations in the torso, hips or knees like Yhwach somewhat has. Except for one pretty major fail for Ichigo especially. THERE'S NO WRIST ARTICULATION!!! Okay to be fair, the wrists will spin 360 degrees but that's it. No other movements can be made at the wrists. He will always will hold Zangetsu as straight up as possible. So you can realistically do only that one pose you see with the sword on his shoulders behind his head. That's it. No sword fighting poses of any sort. You can't even point Zangetsu forward as if going into his "Bankai". The alternate hands are just closed fists so it's not like you can even swap them out to get the second pose. What this does is make it so that almost all the other articulation is useless. Without being able to pose Zangetsu in any other position, this might as well just be a statue as you're only getting that one pose. But I did already say that Todd McFarlane himself would much rather make statues and has gone on record saying that he doesn't understand why people would rather have articulated action figures. So this is him going with HIS desires and not the desires of the people who actually purchase these. It's not like he hasn't been making action figures for years now from the MHA, Mortal Kombat, DC, Spawn, 7 Deadly Sins and whatever other series his company makes figures for. He knows people would rather have that wrist articulation more than anything. The most frustrating thing about it though is that Yhwach (the other Bleach character released currently), has some of the best wrist joints I've ever seen, especially from a McFarlane Toys figure too. So this company knows how to make great wrist articulation for sword wielders. They just chose not to do it for the one character (out of these two so far) who actually needed it. Sure Yhwach is also a sword wielder but he's not really known for it like Ichigo is. Bleach fans are desperate for merch. You don't have to do any crappy business nonsense like this to get people to purchase multiple figures of Ichigo. We'll buy them if they're good. This is good otherwise. So why make a figure that's obsolete right out of the box? This is the kind of thing that can kill a line. Always have full wrist articulation for action figures, especially ones with swords or bows like almost everyone will have in TTYBW. The figure and price are great though. The wrists being this bad are just such a glaring problem that it's difficult to look past. Something so simple and basic for a figure too. What a shame. Oh and one more thing. You don't really notice it in the manga or anime but Ichigo is SHORT. Yhwach TOWERS over him. I mean it makes sense as Ichigo is a Japanese teenager and Yhwach is a...I'm not really sure what he is really. He's over 1000 years old at the very least. He's the son of the Soul King (an immense spiritual being/God...yes capitol "g") so that could make him 100 thousand years old or even older. Yet he's also a German man from the middle ages somehow but might also be actual Jesus or even God himself somehow even if he's the son of God in case the name wasn't a giveaway. Man I hope the anime clears some of this up as Kubo sure isn't doing it otherwise.

Got this Ichigo action figure for a great price. Never thought I'd get a McFarlane made anime figure but for this price tag I couldn't resist. Not too bad at all! I like how clean it is. If you able to get it at this discounted price, you should definitely not pass up if you are a Bleach fan!
