I liked Coldplay right away when I first saw the video for "Yellow" in January 2001. I bought "Parachutes" but was unimpressed. This meant I skipped "A Rush of Blood to the Head" in 2002 even with "Clocks" and "The Scientist". I felt they were overrated. I think I eventually softened and bought that album either before "X & Y" (2005) or at the same time of that album's release. That album convinced me of what I already knew--that I liked this band. They reminded me of U2. Since that time, I have bought each new Coldplay album without regret. They are a part of my enormous music collection and rank highly in my mind. I've never seen them in concert. As I typically do before reviewing a new album, I went back to the beginning and listened to "Parachutes" (2000) straight through to "Music of the Spheres" (2021), and along the way listened to b-sides, non-album tracks, and soundtrack singles, too. Giving me a complete picture of Coldplay before sitting down to write this review. "Moon Music" has been called 'leftovers' from "Music of the Spheres", and I can see why that opinion might have traction. However, of the ten tracks (plus the three bonus tracks "The Karate Kid", "Man in the Moon", and "A Wave") there were only two that I wasn't a fan of--"Good Feelings" (feeling that it was too generic) and "Alien Hits/Alien Radio" (as it felt like an inconsequential, meandering instrumental with Maya Angelou tacked on for good measure and a trace of "Man in the Moon" buried within it). Otherwise, I found "Moon Music" to be a moving and somber opening track that transitions into the uplifting "feelslikeimfallinginlove" which gives way to the excellen multinational, multicultural meditation "We Pray" which transitions into the LGBTQIA+ affirming "Jupiter". Things take a downturn with "Good Feeligns" and "Alien Hits/Alien Radio" but get back on track with the life-affirming "IAAM" followed by "Aeterna", and then closeout with the heartfelt "All My Love" and the meditative "One World" (this would be my third least favorite track on this album). As far as three bonus tracks that appeared on the deluxe edition are concerned, I found "The Karate Kid" and "Man in the Moon" should have replaced "Good Feelings" and "Alien Hits/Alien Radio" as I found them more enjoyable. And what I will say about Coldplay's music as a whole is that all of their albums are about four stars out of five for me because, for the most part, every album has mostly good songs on them with a few that could have been left off. Also, 2025 marks the first year Coldplay is eligible for induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, which is where they should be, but aren't. Me encanto, y el regalo de los lentes un plus... Coldplay es lo maximo

Start to finish, a beautifully written, performed, recorded and produced album. There are no lows. Like reading Samuel Delaney's book Dhalgren, you could put this cd on "repeat" and listen to it over and over, as I'm doing tonight. (Hmm, where's my copy of Dhalgren...) There's no starting point, no ending point, just an endless, pleasant flow... This matches the best conceptual albums of The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, Jean-Michelle Jarre... Best album of 2024. Why not release an Atmos version???

I'm a Coldplay fanatic. This is a beautiful album, more like a Symphony. The packaging is beautiful and made of recycled materials. Great price, great music!

This order was shipped quickly, but not everything in it arrived safely. One CD case was crushed into many pieces and the CD would not play. This CD, however, arrived safely and I am currently enjoying the music.

Mal so ganz ehrlich. Das ist einfach gute Launemusik, die auf der ganzen Welt geliebt wird. Ich war auf dem Konzert in München. Rund 150 Tsd. Menschen glückselig mitsingen zu erleben und endlich mal ein paar Stunden ohne Stress, Neid oder sonstigen Dingen verbringen zu können. Was will man mehr. Und wenn ich die Bilder von den Konzerten auf der ganzen Welt sehe, dann sind wir uns doch eigentlich einig. Die Bilder sind alle gleich. Weltumspannende Fröhlichkeit! Ein Traum. Die Songs sind prima, manche richtig klasse, Jupiter zum Beispiel und we pray und feelslikeimfallinginlove sowieso. Also hinsetzen, CD oder Platte einlegen, genießen und Spaß haben. Wer es anspruchsvoller braucht, soll sich FreeJazz, Barockmusik oder Wagner anhören. Ganz nach Belieben und wie es Euch gefällt.
