Perfect handwriting book for preschoolers. Lots of prewriting exercises before letters, and presents the letters in a very thoughtful way- building upon each practiced skill. I’ve looked at so many handwriting books that have zero thought put into it- letters presented in alphabetical order and no prewriting activities. I paired this with small triangle pencils to help correct my child’s grip and I’ve quickly seen a huge improvement.

Absolutely brilliant! Should honestly be the golden standard for penmanship across the board! My neurodivergent 5 year old was having a rough time with pen control; he tends to get really overwhelmed when looking at the general shape & design of most letters & numbers, but this book breaks down the structural flow of these letters in a way that could aid any child! I'm honestly so impressed that I'll be giving these out as gifts to new Mom's! I actually think that if there were a coloring book option, it would make it that much more thrilling for most children! Anywho, your child will perform a series of repetitive, singular connect the dot motions that can easily be framed as "helping" the characters on each page (ex. We need to help the plane get to it's destination.), then, after completing the series, your child will be introduced to a corresponding letter that uses the same simple motions in it's creation! Isn't that incredible? I took a shot in the dark on this one & was not at all disappointed. It's so simple, yet so perfect! I can't tell you how relieved I am to find something like this! It's actually been life changing... He's completely gained confidence where writing & drawing are concerned, which means everything to my husband & I! From the bottom of a grateful mother's heart: Thank you! You changed a child's life. :)

Let me start by saying I literally can’t think of a con with this book. I was looking for something that didn’t go in alpha order, but by order of difficulty. This does that. So your kid gets some quick “wins” with T, and lower case l. Instead of getting stuck on uppercase B right away haha. Pros: There are a ton of activities. They keep my kid’s attention. The “story” is clear for each page. (Ex: You’re drawing straight lines to make the sides of a rectangular crayon.) It appeals to boys, girls; kids who like space or sports. It has nature and community helpers; fairy tales and animals. Some pages are funny (ex: mice on slides). They have a clear “go” dot (green) and “stop” dot (red). The pages are thick. (I did like a lot of reviewers and placed in page protectors in a binder - to use with dry erase.) My 3-year-old even works on them independently at the table while I make dinner. — The book is inexpensive and high quality. You won’t regret just buying it.

Great gift for the teachers and also for home teaching kids to write at home or school.

I feel *slightly* bad at my environmental footprint with this book. It's totally great for kids who are learning to control their pencil grip, but there's like three activities on each page. I know that's because their attention span is just about that long (my four year old does one page, front and back, and is over it), but it feels kinda wasteful. That being said, I really wanted him to practice writing on paper with a pencil because a dry erase marker is almost too easy. He needed to get the feel for the weight and pressure of a pencil versus lightly dragging a marker over a slick surface and getting the same result. I'm overall happy with the purchase - good book, perforated pages, cute illustrations, lots of color. Probably 5 stars if I could reconcile with my wasteful feeling.

Perfect for new writers 3-6 . Lots of good practice for learning to make Lines and curves. As well as alphabet practice.
