Weird and wonderful
My children absolutely love this book! As do I. It takes you and your child on a journey through the bizarre. Brilliantly crafted with lots of humour. I loved the illustrations too. I whole heartedly recommend it.

More smiles than science
Having introduced some of my kids to Randall Moore books like “What If” and “How To”, I was expecting this book to take a similar-ish approach of straight-faced scientific approaches to silly ideas. However, since it’s hard to scientifically disprove a lot of myths or legends because by their nature they defy analysis, there isn’t really a lot of science to go on here.So instead you get a collection of fairly miscellaneous tales of strange events, sightings or coincidences that have been recorded down the years, interspersed with the author’s slightly rambling and stream-of-consciousness-style interjections making up their own ‘impossible things’ for a laugh. And that ends up being the book’s strength, despite it not being what I expected at all. When the author chats at some length about (for example) throwing a party exclusively for time travellers, and nobody turning up, then throwing a Past Life Party and so on, it’s a curious mix of not-quite-non-fiction that’s readable and entertaining, and occasionally laugh-out-loud funny, even if it’s not really making any points or proving anything at all.The RRP of this book is thirteen quid which is very steep for a paperback book of under 300 pages, and I think the “unbelievable answers” tagline misrepresents what the book actually contains, and that’s why I’m only giving it four stars. It definitely raises some smiles though, even if it can’t answer impossible questions.

Very entertaining
This was recommended by Danny Robins, writer and podcaster who had bought it for his kids.My grandchildren are 7 and 9 1/2 and they are loving this book. It's just right for that age group - quirky, funny and intriguing enough to stimulate the brains of lovers of the weird and wonderful.

Brilliant!
I bought this fab book as I heard it advertised on our fave podcast, No Such Thing as a Fish. My son who is heavily dyslexic and reluctant to read couldn't put this down. It was a joy to watch him read it cover to cover and recite funny facts and silly stories. 5 stars isn't enough, brilliant book Dan, please bring out more!

Great
My 10 year old loved this book, so much so that weeks later facts they learnt from this came up in conversation and they were able to show us the exact paragraph to share the full story.

This is my favourite kind of book
I bought this book for myself! I’m a 52 year old Mother & Grandmother and couldn’t put it down. I hope Dan keeps writing and podcasting as I enjoy his work immensely and looking forward to seeing him with his Fish colleagues in Dublin soon 😊

Love Dan's Book!
Great book! Great way to talk about "spooky" things with my son, who is 8! He loved the bit about the poop, just like you guessed.
