this really holds the water. here in Texas it gets so hot and the garden can quickly start wilting. I mixed these in with my planting and it has really helped. we are under a watering restriction where we can only water 1 day a week so this has been a huge help keeping my plants going between my weekly wattering day.

However much you think you will need, reduce by half and then half that. A little of this stuff goes a long way. We bought to put in our plants that are in containers mounted on our patio deck. We over did the granules. After thinning them out they work perfectly. Keeps the soil moist and the plants alive.

This water storage gel is incredible. I only use 2 teaspoons for a quarter bucket with water and it absorbs all the water. I mix it already hydrated in my soil and then plant my seeds or my seedlings. The roots grab the gel and every time I add water, the gel absorbs it and let the root get water slowly. This assure my plants will have water for a longer period of time. I recommend also to add in the same soil some mycorrhizal. This product is not expensive and gives you more for your money.

Works well if you work into the soil 4-6 inches deep.

When using for crafts or cooling neck ties, the crystals become slimy and the dry in sharp, clumpy shards. Do not get for this purpose. other brand do not have this issue. What chemical in this product is causing this issue?

The media could not be loaded. I LOVE having this in a sealable tub! Having this much for a fraction of the name brand Soil Moist is a game changer. It will last me years and stay fresh. I'm so glad that I discovered this!Note: Last year I commented to a store owner on her gorgeous bed of zinnias. She told me that all she had done was plant the seeds with a handful of bagged soil and these crystals and had amazing success. I was surprised that it never occurred to me to try that with seeds! I am eager to see my results!

A little really does go a long way. I’m always amazed how much it expands. I spilled some, and it ended up, looking like clear Jell-O all over the ground. The only thing I don’t like is when they dry out they get hard and they stick to the container that they’re in until you saturate them. Same thing if you use them in the soil in the ground
