My grill ,smoker combo always had trouble with flames igniting juices on the heat shields. When the mounts for the heat shields,and burners finally gave out. I decided to modify my set up. Now my shields are ever so slightly closer to the grates and a bit farther away from the burners. Before flames would almost wrap around the sides of the heat shields,and set dripping juices( fats-sugars ect) on fire.It was a gamble, so I grilled two thick ribeyes.(today actually)While it did seem to take a minute or so per side longer,the steak had no black burned edges like before( flare-ups). I bought the ceramic coated shields this go around ,my last set of replacement stainless shields died rather quickly. I had to replace the shields,burners, crossovers all of it this time,so I modified it a little and it turned out great. ( Side note, the little green harbor freight 110 volt flux core wire welder worked great for this repair). This set is complete for a direct swap. How long will it last time will tell, but for the price I think it will be a good buy. Just know ,when those brackets go,and they will , its time for a welder,and some flatbar.

Definately an upgrade over the originals.
