8dB Novatel Verizon 551L USB551 MC551 LTE USB Modem External Antenna

It was nothing fancy or a miracle solution - it performed as desired and advertised. Added it to a stationery USB modem that needed additional signal amplification to perform reliably. This did just that, combined with a 50-foot cable to move the signal reception point to a more suitable location.

Works as expected, and I had high expectations. Antenna is tuned for the many multiple bandwidths of LTE frequencies. Using with a Novatel USB 5150L works exactly as I needed it to. Download and upload speeds VERY stable and pings 41ms with 6ms jitter. Large trees tend to mess with radio frequencies, but having this antenna up high and away from other radio interference cleaned up the connection nicely. I am not able to use VOIP, gaming, torrents, and streaming in a stable low latency way. Before that was not possible where I am located. I have not tried to use for "while in motion" mobile use, but I image it would clear up many problems a steel wrapped environment present. I am just glad to have stable fast internet again. I cannot wait to try it in the car now. The magnetic base snaps hard to metal that is ferrous (spelling?) and seems as it would hold well on a trunk or car roof. The cable appears to be of good quality and the adapted that comes with it screws into the main whip with integrity. I have recommended this product to friends with similar signal reception quality and they have ordered for themselves. I am not a compensated/paid reviewer. I only review things if they are extremely good buys or if they perform poorly. Looking at the AntennaGear website I see they specialize in just exactly the problems I was having. I just wish they had PRIME shipping deal. $50 is not much to pay for a good connection in my opinion. You could spend a whole lot more for the same results.

I had high hopes for this antenna after reading the other positive reviews. I plugged it in to my 551L and nothing changed. The reported signal strength (2 out of 4 bars) was the same and speed test results were the same.I want this to work. Am I missing something. Will change my review if I can get this working.

Verizon wireless sent me the Novatel USB551 modem which comes with a 12" extended wire to connect to the web. I have been unable to stay connected since being in a remote area my signal kept bouncing between 2 towers cutting me off at 1-5 min intervals. I went to the Verizon wireless store in Sams Club in Lebanon, NH and they told me about this Wilson antenna and I got it here. Boy was that ever the best thing I did. I didn't place it near a window but did hang a metal shelf bracket near the ceiling on the wall and put the antenna on it and now I have 4G service!!!!!!! I can actually see a video of a news story without it taking 2 min to download 15 seconds of play as I had to endure before. Verizon wireless' antennas are worthless don't waste your money with them.....get this one!

We have a stand-alone computer kiosk in a metal cabinets that needed an internet connection. The metal cabinets weren't conducive to the modem receiving a good signal. We were able to not only locate the antenna outside of the cabinet, but up higher. Now we get a nice strong signal!
