Nostalgia on stils but better quality production values (paper and so forth) than the original. A good tool for learning/teaching, I feel.

Arrived in excellent condition. High quality sequentially illustrated novelization of Shelley's Frankenstein.

I first bought this Classics Illustrated title as a kid. Or I should say my dad did as I was so young I had no money. I loved it then. As an adult I have bought an old copy of the original comic. I am very glad to have this new, more durable copy in my collection. I still love it.

The finest presentation of this story ever published! The story is perfect for this format, as anyone who has ever tried to read the original publication will contest. And the story itself will hold a surprise or two for those only exposed to the wildly adapted movie versions. The art is haunting without being gory, and it is not overtly influenced by the movies. I owned my first copy of this book as a child in the 60's. The presentation is as timeless as the story. I would highly recommend this book as one of Classics Illustrated's finest adaptations as well as the most faithful telling of this story in a comic book format ever attempted.It is the perfect introduction to this story.At least, it was for me.

I've heard of Classics Illustrated for years, but never read any as a youngster. Recently I purchased Huckleberry Finn, The Three Musketeers, and Frankenstein just out of curiosity. I think some kids could really get into these classic stories in comic book form, and, as such, Classics Illustrated could serve as a spark that gets kids excited about eventually reading the real thing.
