Key-Bak Original Series Retractable Key Reel with Stainless Steel Spring with Chain Tether. This lasted pretty well as I used it to hold my smartphone to my belt to avoid dropping/ loosing it. The key bak was pretty discreet and operated well with the chain tether, the retraction force saved my phone a few times after it fell out of my hands. Sadly the retraction mechanism broke, the little plastic tab that kept the tension on the steel spring snapped off which is a shame as I think they could have easily made it out of more durable material.I ordered another different key-bak ratchet type one and see how many years that will last!

Well built and easy to use
Holds a good weight (I can add my 6 keys and ID badge) without being aggressive on the return if it is only carrying something light weight like just my ID badge. Seems like it will last forever. I have confidence I wont loose my ID card, even when wearing it on my motorbike.

Fantastically useful
Brilliant key holder. I use it for my caravan keys to keep them all together and immediately accessible when we go on holiday. I also used one at work for years. There are cheaper options, but this is the original and best - you get what you pay for. I've also bough them for my caravanning friends - best gadget I've ever bought for caravanning, when you always need different keys while setting up etc.

Does not fit a lot of belts. Be aware of clip vs. loop.
Nice quality item, far better than the usual cheapo/freebie pass holders. Supports a photo-ID, several keys, alarm fob and security token without sagging. This model has the belt loop, not a belt clip. So you have to open your belt and slide the loop onto it. On the positive side, once it's attached it can't fall off.UPDATE - After owning it for a week or so I have found it has rather a bad design flaw. It only works with quite thin belts. I don't mean width, but thickness. A plain leather belt is fine, but a leather belt with a metal tip, or a webbing belt with a leather tip, will not fit into the loop.

had these in 1960!
glad to trace this fine seller whose product i used in the 1960s onwards. they still do a fine job though i prefer the plain mirror casing they used way back when our world was different!. but i am old so what do you expect nowadays!!!!!!! hope they keep making these.

Five Stars
Excellent quality. Anything else is a false economy. Worth every penny!

Good quality but mine got squashed
The black casing bent in my bag so that the bottom where the chain comes our expanded. The retaining ring popped out and the chain doesn't glide in and out as smoothly. Fixed it 90% myself but it's not perfect. At this price I would have expected this not to happen.

New, but damaged.
Chain is not back on the rest position.
