My first time putting it on, I felt the hole where the battery door opens and I thought it was kind of funny. Because I was holding it with the small 18-40mm kit lens, I didn't really think it needed it for filming myself. But that's one small use case of what this camera can do and over the last two months I've been using it for my professional videography business and buying MUCH bigger lenses. Even with the kit lens, it's WILDLY stable, Lumix IBIS is the best in the business. And having a little grip to steer it with is MUCH better when you're not aiming the camera at yourself. I've used the little tool that comes with it many times for other tripods and such, very helpful addition. But when I purchased the Sigma 28-45mm F1.8 I knew I NEEDED the grip and was glad I had it. That lens is a giant chunk of a professional tool. And not having a grip to hold the camera at my side would be just outright foolish. Now I wouldn't go back, and if you plan on using this for more than vlogging with the tiny lens that is included. I'd consider it a MUST HAVE.

It seems like a necessary item for the S9! I got the smallrig cage as well but keep this on 99% of the time. I've tried others but this is the smallest and lightest so it really follows the s9 ethos. P.s. It doesn't work with the smallrig camera clip without the quick release clip.

As most have already said, this is a must-have for the S9. It really should have come with the camera to begin with.

Adds great additional grip and fits the camera beautifully. It feels like this should always have been on the camera.

A little extra grip is nice. The bottom protection and integrated Arca Swiss plate are bonus.

Its good

I really didn't want to add a hand grip to my Lumix S9 and tried to avoid it, but to avoid accidentally dropping it I figured I'd give this one a try and I'm glad I did. It's pretty minimalistic and barely adds any size or weight to the compact S9's body. Smallrig did a great job and it looks like an OEM had grip and not something made by a 3rd party. Very happy with it!

It works but comes loose often

Fits the S9 like a glove, can’t really tell if it isn’t part of the camera body. For the price, it’s one of better made ones.

Funciona Perfectamente, encaja como si fuera de la propia cámara. La he estado usando unos días y el grip es perfecto. Además protege un poco más la cámara. No le añade mucho peso.

Le grip tient bien et rajoute l'accroche qu'il manque à cet appareil. La trappe pour changer batterie et sd est évidemment pratique puisque le grip ne quitte jamais la caméra. En termes de poids je ne rejoins pas forcément les autres avis je ressens à peine la différence et surtout je pense que j'aurais dû mal à me sentir en confiance avec quelque chose de plus léger. Une petite pièce métallique est fournie pour viser et dévisser la fixation, avec un emplacement aimanté pour la ranger, c'est pratique. Avec le coupon pour 38€ c'est un bon accessoire.
