This is a high quality, strong and sturdy leather sheath - just like the first one I purchased for an Ontario Rat 5 that I carry daily when working on the farm/vineyard/orchards. This is my second sheath purchased from this artisan company for my Buck 124 Frontiersman. While the Buck sheath that comes with the Frontiersman is really good quality and made in the USA, it is standard cary and not cross draw. A cross draw carry sheath allows you to easily carry a long 12 inch knife like the Frontiersman either appendix or on the side or in the small of the back. Very versatile. Wish I had gotten this sheath sooner. I carry the Frontiersman hiking and hunting and this cross draw knife sheath makes it easy to carry a large knife like the Buck 124 Frontiersman and not get in the way of my other carry gear.
