Dewalt Milwaukee to Bosch PBA 18V Battery Adapter Converter for Dewalt 20V & Milwaukee M18 Tools

Works well with my DeWalt battery

I started with Ryobi tools, but I've been moving to Milwaukee recently. This allows me to use my many old Ryobi tools that I haven't replaced yet with my newer, and better performing, Milwaukee batteries. This means I have to carry less batteries for simple jobs.It clips into the Ryobi tool just fine, and my Milwaukee batteries clip into it just fine.

If like me you have multiple batteries for different brands of power tool, the most annoying part is that they aren't cross compatible due to proprietary connections, even though they are the exact same voltage. Hence when I saw this I was keen to try it outFirst impressions are good, the unit looks very much like a Bosch made part with the colour scheme, and everything seems to be well manufactured. The premise is that you connect this to the Bosch tool and then connect the Dewalt or Milwaukee to the adapter, which will then deliver power.Attaching the adapter to the Bosch is easy enough, it simply slides on like a battery would and then clicks into place. Attaching the Dewalt battery to the adapter proves a little more tricky.At first I thought that it wasn't going to be compatible, as the adapter plate only has two pins, rather than 5 pin slots that the Dewalt battery has, and it certainly didn't want to slide into place when I tried it. However on the second attempt I found you have to kind of angle it slightly upward and wiggle it, and then the pins engage. Once its in place everything works as intended and the battery levels indicators show the same value on the Bosch as ell as the Dewalt battery packOverall for £18 this is a pretty good addition to the toolbox, allowing you avoid spending lots of larger capacity batteries for each brand, now you can have a couple of large batteries that can be shared between the two brands. The only downside is this adapter does make an already large battery even more bulky, but that's not the end of the world for most jobs. Just remember to wiggle it to get it to attach

These adaptors are a lifesaver if you’ve got tools from different brands. Managing batteries can be a real headache, mainly if you can’t stick to just one brand's ecosystem. This adapter works precisely as it should, letting me use my Makita batteries with Worx tools, which means more battery time across my tools. I’m pleased with it!

To be clear I am talking about the variant of this adapter that's supposed to convert a DeWalt battery for use with a Bosch machine powered by a PBA battery. The fit looks to be correct for both machine and battery. It slides onto the machine with no fuss and locks in place. The same is true of the battery, but something's wrong internally that means that the battery wont power the machine. No lights on nothing. So as the title states it simply doesn't work.I also tried an identical adapter from a supposedly different supplier and that didn't work either.My conclusion is therefore, do not buy this version.

This adapter has allowed me to use a couple of DeWalt batteries on my newer Worx drill meaning that I don’t have to throw away perfectly good batteries.The unit works well, no issues with fitting, just slots onto the drill and the DeWalt battery attaches as normal.Feels nice and sturdy, no fitting issues. Just does as it should.Highly recommended

Takes a little force to attach the battery. Got to be a little careful with this as there is a little bit of sideways movement and it's easy to misalign the pins - at which point pushing will bend or even break them. So I advise carefully sliding the two together, checking the pins are straight, and then push hard to lock into position. Unlocking and removing the battery is easy incidentally.The adaptor is a great idea and adds very little weight to the battery and only a little over an inch of height.As I have lots of Dewalt batteries knocking around, it's great to be able to use them in my Bosch drill for which I only have a single battery and it gets a lot of use. Far cheaper than buying more batteries.Recommended!

I have two sets of the very old Milwaukee power drill and impact combo V18. Work great but its batteries are not available anymore. This adapter works like a charm! By using my new M18 batteries I can go back to use equipment. Also I have tried the USB port located on the adapter and it does work. I really recommend this adapter. The inconvenience is that you must carry this adapter at all times, specially when the original batteries are depleting. It will not charge the M18 batteries; you must have charged with you in order to use this adapter.

The Milwaukee adapter works great. Now I don’t have to get rid of my old tools because those batteries didn’t hold a charge anymore.

Great adapter, works as it should, and as I don't want any more than two cordless platforms (Makita &Dewalt) it provides me with the flexibility to buy/run Bosch (green) tools, saving money .. perfect

I, like others who have reviewed this item, was mistaken in thinking this was an actual battery. At the time I ordered this, I was sure the description indicated it was a battery but this was my mistake. My mistake, my fault and it should not affect this review negatively due to my mistake.The only use I have for this is to use it as an emergency power source. I was able to attach my current battery to it and charge my phone using the provided USB port. At least I know that works.

Once in a while you can find used Milwaukee tools on Craigslist, OrfferUp, or Facebook Marketplace using the older V18 lithium ion or nicad battery packs. They are usually sold at bargain prices because the original batteries have gone bad, and new ones are too expensive.Using this adapter lets you use these older tools with the current M18 batteries, which are readily available. Great way to get perfectly good high-quality power cordless tools working again!
