The tire cover itself is made out of leatherette or as some people like to say "synthetic leather" and it was very easy to install on the tire. The tire cover has an elastic band that is quite stretchy and has a good snug fit on my spare tire once it was installed. However, the reason why I gave this 3 stars is because I am concerned with the quality and reliability of the cover. There are a few areas where the stitching of the cover is loose or is coming slightly apart. This is not really an issue for me personally since Im going to leave this inside of my trunk where it wont be exposed to the elements, but for those that are planning to keep their tire outside of their vehicle it could be an issue.
