haven't used everything in this kit, but the ones I have and still use (complete hip replacement recently) are incredibly helpful. Grabber tool: Constantly needing to pick something up off the ground. You'd be surprised how often you drop things and can't bend to retrieve it. Yay, grabber tool! Sock aid: I still can't bend to put a sock on that foot. So frustrating, and this actually works like a charm. It's an amazingly helpful tool. Ice pack: Use it. But actually, you will want to get a second ice pack, because when the first one melts, you'll want a second one to replace it. Ice pack gives a ton of relief and this one can be strapped on. Especially great if you have to walk with it on. And yes, they will make you walk while you are recovering. Show horn: I haven't mastered the shoehorn yet, but when I can make it work, it's the only way I'm getting that shoe on. Again, no bending. Leg lifter: Never felt the need. I use both hands under my thigh and lift my leg around. However, don't discount it for yourself. I just haven't needed it. You may. All in all I am super glad I purchased this kit, instead of finding out the hard way that I was going to need these handy tools AFTER the operation. They saved me a lot of frustration and ease of dealing with the problems that you WILL encounter every day. Excellent kit, well thought out.

As a retired ICU and ER Nurse of 35 yrs, I was maybe more prepared for what was to come after my total hip replacement. First off, I HIGHLY recommend you choose the Anterior approach to your replacement if you qualify. The pain and movement restrictions are dramatically reduced because they don't have to cut through the gluteus (butt) muscles and bleeding and drainage are minimal. As I write this, I am 4 days post op, so still using the SLIQ equipment. After talking with my Physical Therapist (PT), I decided to buy the SLIQ Recovery kit (it made more sense and cheaper to get everything together rather than buying individually). 8 hrs after surgery, I was home and immediately used the Ice pack that I placed in the freezer the night before. It is large enough to cover the entire hip area, is comfortable to wear, held the ice for almost 6 hrs and more importantly, didn't leak. The "Grabber" is a necessary item post-op for all the things you are going to drop around you. The textured grip is delicate enough to grab the small Tylenol bottle I dropped and the way it folds up, fits nicely on the walker. I haven't used the long shoe horn yet, but in practice it works great ( I highly recommend getting the slip-on type of sneekers. Makes getting shoes on much easier than regular sneekers). The REAL JEWEL of the package is the "sock applicator tube". This is real genius. Instead of bending down to put socks and compression stockings on, you, while sitting up, slide the socks/stockings over the tube, place your foot at the opening and using the rope handles, pull the socks/stockings over you foot and up your calf without the pain of bending over. Last, but not least, is the necessary foot lifter. You place your foot in the triangular loop and then lift the surgical leg up. This is invaluable for lifting your leg into and out of bed without any pain or discomfort. Hip replacement surgery and the post-op therapy is no laughing matter, but The SLIQ equipment makes the recovery very tolerable. I was NOT compensated for this review.

All of the items are sturdy. It was worth the money. The one from the hospital received from the hospital was not as good as this one.

Everything in here was a great asset to have during my hip replacement surgery recovery. The ice packet in the kit was well worth the price by itself, but the grip on the grabber, the leg weight stick and sock assist were also close seconds to being the most helpful!

I bought this for my 2nd hip replacement in 1.5 yrs (other side). This set has everything you’ll need and didn’t know you’ll need for you joint replacement recovery. I went through my 1st hip replacement without it and it really made things a little easier for my 2nd. Detailed review 1) ice pack: 9/10. You need to ice a lot during recovery and this reusable ice pack is perfect. Freezes pretty quickly, the size is perfect, the ability to strap it on with Velcro is helpful later. You don’t need to wrap this around your hip with the Velcro for the first couple of weeks because that requires more painful movement and the weight holds it in place. I’ve found that icing still process relief later in your recovery when you are more mobile and the ability to wrap this around and use when moving is really nice! 2) the grabber 10/10. This is really nicely made and I’ve used it to pick up very fine things like a charging cord, bigger items like a cup, and open drawers. This came in especially handy when I was spending most of my time in bed after surgery because small movements can be very painful and I didn’t have to call someone into my room to hand me things that I couldn’t reach. This is my favorite item in this kit and I really wish I would have had it after my 1st surgery. 3) leg lift strap 6/10. This is well made and a good length. I like that it has a metal piece in it to make it stiff and give it structure. This is the item that I’ve used the least though but that may be because I’m younger, pretty mobile and strong, and already know how to move my surgery side pretty well due to past experience. I could see this being very helpful for other people though. 4) long shoe horn 10/10. The movement required to get your shoes on after a hip replacement can be difficult and painful for a whole after surgery and this shoe horn is so helpful and doesn’t require you to make that painful bend. 5) sock tool 9/10. Putting your socks on after surgery is impossible for a while. After my first surgery I had to ask my son to help for a long time or go without socks when I was alone. This tool allows me to put in my own socks! The only downside is I think it could stretch out certain socks because it has a pretty large diameter. Final review 10/10 if you are having a going replacement do your self a favor and order this kit!!

This was one of the best purchases I made for my surgery. The leg mover is incredibly helpful and the reacher is very well made. The ice pack fits the area perfectly. I highly HIGHLY recommend this item!

Everything in the kit I badly needed. I bought it for after surgery, it shows up and made my life so much easier. Wish I bought it sooner. I didn't know they existed. Quslity is good. Bandages were like a second skin. The wire in the leg lifting makes it so much easier than fighting to get the other ones on. Highly recommend this kit.

Kit is perfect for getting organized for your upcoming hip replacement. Wishing the shoe horn would have been longer but other than that, I am thrilled to have ordered.

Absolutely loved this product!!!! Everything is super useful to use accompanying hip surgery. The ice pack fits perfectly around my hip. I highly recommend it.
