This OneBlade blows my double-edge (DE) safety razor, a classic Merkur 34C, out of the water. It is easier to load than a DE, glides smoothly and effortlessly and the shave is clean. This OneBlade handles multi-day stubble and daily shaving alike with ease. I like that it has a pivoting head, which makes it stand out from almost all other DE razors. For example, the now-popular Henson and the Supply SE don't have a pivoting head. Having a pivoting head means that you don't need to hold the razor at precisely the right angle all the time, which is trickier around the chin area. Replacement single-edge razors for this OneBlade are cheap, although more expensive than DE, at just under $1 apiece (versus 30-50 cents for DE), but still *far* cheaper than replacement cartridges for most modern cartridge razors which usually cost more than $3 apiece. Compared to a cartridge razor, this OneBlade is cheaper to own and more environmentally friendly because there's no plastic waste. It also cuts through multi-day stubble effortlessly. Cartridge razors like the Gillette Fusion get ensnared by multi-day stubble and the only way to shave in that situation is to force it, which gets painful. This is one of the few razors that, when used correctly, delivers a shave comparable to that of a traditional straight razor. I'm very impressed with the design, which makes achieving a close, precise shave both easy and efficient. I would definitely recommend this razor to anyone looking for the feel and performance of a straight razor without the learning curve.

I've used the Core for quite a while. I was hesitant to upgrade to a closer shave, but eventually bit the bullet and went with the Element. Along with the new blades from OneBlade, this razor ticks all the boxes for me: 1) close, smooth shave; 2) no irritation and minimal nicks and cuts; 3) excellent quality. Nice job, OneBlade!

I purchased the OneBlade element with high hopes of a better, more comfortable shave. Saying the razor fell short, is a complete understatement! Having tried multiple methods and techniques with the OneBlade element as directed in the included instructions, left my face with tons of nicks and an unbearable amount of irritation. To top it all off, OneBlade customer service is a complete joke!! I was told I couldn’t return my purchase due to “using the included blades”. - Apparently, you have to find your own blades to try the razor with while you try the razor out! If you use the blades included in your purchase, you won’t be able to return it!! - So much for the “risk free” trial….

Amazing shave, ONENLADE is the best razor there is, hands down. Never shaved closer or cleaner than this!

As a long-time Merkur double edge safety razor user, I was hoping for something that might be a little kinder to my face as it succumbs to gravity. After reading the great reviews on this nice looking machine, I had high hopes. Alas, they were not to be realized. I realize that there's a learning curve on this and that it requires a different technique -- putting some pressure on the upper part of the razor head to activate the pivot -- but after studying the instructions and videos online and a solid 6 or 7 shaving sessions, I can only say that I have better things to do than spending weeks to perfect my technique. One thing is for sure: even if you get the technique down, you're going to spend longer shaving your face with this gizmo than with a regular safety razor. The instructions make it very clear that the first "pass" should take about a minute and remove not much more than the lather. That's an accurate description, but it means you need at least a second and in my case a third pass to get just a half-way decent shave. With my trusty Mercur, one pass was usually enough for most occasions. I want to acknowledge that I got a personal email response within 24 hours from their customer service dept., when I wrote and asked for help with the razor. Unfortunately, the suggestions just didn't make enough of a difference to turn this around for me. Maybe people with a different facial "landscape" might have a different experience.

The former Hybrid was much better, this one feels of lower quality.

I own 12 DE and a handful of SE razors, ranging in price from 50-300 dollars. This is by far the one that does it all. It shaves as close as my most dangerous double edge (that requires major technique and patience)....all the while, being as forgiving as a cheap cartridge razor. I think I'll be buying their premium Genesis model.
