Super cute toy for boys or girls
The Nesting Space Surprise by Learning Resources is a very cute toy for ages 18 months and older. I love that 4 of the 5 pieces separate into two pieces which is so fun for kids who like to open and close things. The pieces are easy to open and figure out which piece fits into the next bigger piece. The numbering on each piece of the toy helps the child to know the order of how each piece goes into the next one. I am so happy that all pieces fit into the large blue rocket ship, so this toy doesn’t take up much room on the shelf. The pieces are plastic, but very heavy duty and seem high quality to me. Finding space themed toys are kind of rare, in my opinion, and I love that both boys and girls can play with this since space is for everyone! This toy would make a great 1st or 2nd birthday gift for any child. Highly recommended!

OK, but some parts too complex
This should provide some hours of fun, but some of the parts seem more difficult to match up than what one might expect for an 18 month old. Particularly it seems a little complex to put the green part number two into the orange part number 3. Then getting the clear part to fit into number three is also somewhat complex.

A fun toy for any inspiring astronaut!
This nesting 'space surprise toy' is a fun way to introduce the idea of space to your child, and can make it fun while improving their fine motor skills, as well as learning or reinforcing their number skills. Children can use the set unsupervised, so perfect for when you want to keep them busy, and the set is easy to tidy away and store for whenever it's needed next. The pieces in the set can sometimes be a little tight, but overall I would highly recommend !

More of an interactive toy than something the child will play with on his own
Our nephew shows interest in the Nesting Space Surprise but does not maintain interest. He likes to take the layers apart and is delighted to find multiple pieces, especially the star. Putting it back together? Not so much. At just 18 months, maybe he’s just not ready to associate the number symbols (1, 2, 3 etc) with the concept. I work with him to introduce the numbers but I don’t want to push it and make it seem like work. The set is a winner with its right-sized pieces that can be held but not easily lost. The colors and characters are just great and it is well-made. But it is more of an interactive toy that has limitations for a child on his own. Maybe his interest will increase over the next few months but, meanwhile, we are having fun with it together.

Excellent item
The Learning Resources Nesting Space Surprise is an engaging and educational toy that is perfect for toddlers aged 18 months and up. This set includes a series of space-themed figures that nest within each other, promoting fine motor skills and number recognition as children play. The two-piece rocket opens to reveal a friendly astronaut, a UFO, an alien, and a star, each numbered to encourage counting from 1 to 5. The vibrant colours and varied textures are sure to capture a child’s imagination, while the durable design ensures it can withstand the rigors of playtime. When the adventure ends, all pieces conveniently store inside the rocket, making clean up a breeze. Overall, this toy is an excellent choice for parents and educators looking to foster early developmental skills through play
