Vasque Talus at Low UltraDry Hiking Shoe - Men's Brown Olive/Glazed Ginger, 10.0

I bought a pair of these to replace a well worn pair of Vasque Mantra 2 hiking shoes, and was disappointed with the way the shoe fits in the back/heel. I feel as though I could walk right out of them. A lot of vertical movement in the heel, which would be a recipe for blisters. To give more clarification, my Mantra 2 shoes measure almost the full length of my pointer finger from the insole to the inside top of the back of the shoe. These "low" shoes are about HALF that height. I made the decision to return them immediately upon trying them on for the first time. Some folks might like this style, but I'm clearly not one of them. I will never understand WHY a shoe manufacturer takes a great design and "improves" them into something terrible. I wish they'd just leave them alone and keep making them. I liked the Mantra 2's enough that I was a repeat customer for them at least five times over the past ten years, and now that style is no longer available. Reminds me of that old George Carlin line, "Now they don't make them anymore! You wanna know why?!? It's because they found out we like them!".

picked a sizer larger than normalright shoe hurts my foot thought it would "break in" but has not left shoe would be a 5 star.. don't believe to he a shoe issue and returning was easy

A little stiff to start, but great quality and nice enough with dress pants for the office.
