## Description

St Louis Crafts 38-Gauge Aluminum Foil Roll is ideal for creative embossing without a mold and for fixed embossing over metal foil molds. It is used to make flowers/leaves, stars, ornaments and decorations. Foil in Coppertone measures 12 in x 25 ft. Has silver (aluminum backs).

Review: Beautiful Copper foil - A few months ago I undertook a project to build a bar in my house and I fell in love with the idea of having a copper bar top. However I was hoping to do it on a budget and other options for pure copper tops were quite expensive. I looked around and found this product and I LOVE IT! It is not pure copper, I believe it is a thick aluminium, with a copper finish. It is fairly easy to work with and is strong enough where it doesn't bend randomly. However it is easy to take the copper color off if you scratch enough, so be gentle. Coming out of the roll, it retains its shape to make sure you flatten it either before or after applying it or even try adding effects with embossing if you are competent with it. After laying down the copper foil, I poured epoxy on and it held up well. Attached are some images of the bar top (before the epoxy pour and after). It was a bit of an amature job and on a tight budget so it wasn't perfect but I love the way the foil adds that nice copper pop and we get loads of compliments on it. For the price I think this is a great product for all arts and crafts. It is sturdy and it looks great.

The kids used popsicle sticks to emboss it and colored Sharpies to decorate it. We tied them with a ribbon that was from a couple beads to. They turned out so lovely. :-)

## Questions & Answers

**Q: It's listed as both aluminum foil and a copper roll..  is it aluminum or copper?**
A: It's bright shiny aluminum on one side, and has a copper-colored coating on the other side. There is no real copper, but the coppery side looks good, as in being a passable imitation, and won't tarnish over time like real copper.

**Q: Is it rust proof?**
A: Mine is used outside and has not rusted at all but unfortunately does loose it's cooper coloring in a very short time. Material itself holds up very well.

**Q: what is the core size?**
A: About 1/2" -- it is rolled on itself without a cardboard center

**Q: Can you solder a copper wire to the copper colored side?**
A: I believe the copper color is really a coloring, not actual copper.  If you heat it, the copper color burns away and the aluminum shows through.
